painting wood trim

i wanna kinda cop loxlloxl style there and paint some of my interior gunmetal, but he had the LX, my EX has the fake wood plastic **** in the center console and on the doors. is there any way to paint this? i mean, sand it down a little and treat it like any other surface? there are only 4 areas i wanna paint...the 2 door panels, center console, and radio trim.

anyone have any ideas?

Yup...Rub it with alcohol to take off any cleansers/dirt/protectant you may have...Wipe it down with tackcloth(not necessary, but more for peace of mind)....Spray with white primer (personal preference)...Sand down with 400 grit sandpaper....tackcloth...Spray primer (it should be fully coated now)....tackcloth....Paint....tackcloth...paint... .tackcloth...clearcoat...tackcloth...clearcoat...t ackcloth...clearcoat.....When you spray, start away from the object and move in...

Yeah it is possible you just need to sand off the clear coat on the fake wood. This way the paint will stick.

An easy thing to do is just get the metal trim off an Accord in an auto graveyard.
