My TYC sucks big time...

Ive always used Piaa Sparkblue bulbs for my TYC up to now.
Yesterday the the bulbs were gone and I didnt have any more set (I had 3 sets in the glove compactment for the light). Anyway...I bought a set of extreme white from other brand and it COMPLETTELY SHOCKED me with YELLOW out put like halogen....When put the same bulbs in the other car its whiteish...damn it...They told me because TYC projector is yellowish in lense, thats y.
Long story shorts, does any other projector can fit TYC so I can replace it, he he....
If not then I just go ahead and get a set of HID kit and call it a day.
BTW, please no Retrofit comment because I dont want to spend too much on just for light.

.

but you say you dont want a retrofit .. its the only way you can put the Valeo ECEs into the TYCs .. you have to retrofit it ..

or just get an HID kit ..

Get 10,000k HID kit and you'll be more than satisfied with color output.

oh yeah, it'll be dim as F though.

I have 8000k HID in TYC blackhoused headlights, and it's decently bright and a brilliant white-ish blue color, only sorta dim in rainy weather, but even my oem headlights with silverstar were dim as heck in rainy weather.

retrofitting most of the time is using oem headlights and cutting out the main section and inserting/fitting any kind of projector and shroud (mainly acura tsx or audi blah blah) then getting a d2s hid kit and wiring harness and hella ballasts or whatever. it looks the cleanest, because normally you blackhouse the oem lights too. it's hella expensive or time consuming though, but worth it i've heard. it's "real" HID.

You do realize PIAA has a lifetime replacement warranty if they blow?..send them back to PIAA. I done it all the time with my H1 fogs on my mustang.

I have the TYC's as well for my 01 accord. Did you guys have to take off the bumper to mount the ballasts? I was thinking about getting the McCulloch's 5000k single beam. Any suggestions? Oh and did anybody have difficulty putting your HID kit into the housing of the TYC's?

lol no you don't have to take off the front bumper. the ballasts and igniters just can be tied or screwed inside the engine bay wherever you can find room. honestly the ballasts are pretty sturdy, so they can take a tight squeeze. I just upgraded from MKS 8000k hid to McCulloch 6000k HID but they're in shipment right now. I think they'll be much brighter so i can see more, right now i can't see crap. granted only one bulb is working at the moment. it's not difficult at all to fit the HID bulbs and ballasts. it's a piece of cake, just gotta make sure you get the right wires hooked up to each other. they come with instructions.

if you have the new HID kits with the 'slimmer' size ballasts, they should fit, but best to remove the bumper and mount them hidden away
