I saw that awhile back and I just laugh, that was so funny, but hey I guess everyone needs to make money.

I think bestbuy should be banned from selling car audio, IMO

Nah, I disagree.. BestBuy needs to continue selling lower grade car audio... because surprising or not ppl are actually content with fosgate, pioneer, kenwood, jensen, lightening audio products. A guy just wanting to upgrade his stock system a little will be blown away by a mere 200watt jensen amp hooked up to a dual-pre fabbed lightenening audio sub box with 2 10s...

That's how it goes...eventually if that individual gets serious about his sound, or hears another car with ummm for example some Brahmas running off of an AUdison amp .... he/she will have a new understanding of what is budget and what is enthusiast car audio equipment. People gotta start small and work their way up. I dont think many of us were bumping with high-quality gear as our first sound systems.

my first system wuz dual audiobahn 12's runnin off a MA amp... it wuz louder than most ppl's that goto my school

but my new system will be (not yet purchased need more money)

Either Pioneer DEH-P850MP, DEH-P8500MP, or Panasonic CQ-DFX983 HU

Alpine SPX-177a, SPR-176a or SPS-170a compontes (most likely the SPX-177a's )

No rear deck speakers

Single 15" RE XXX or Adire Brahma powered by ??? AMP... i want at least 1200watts RMS... was thinking RE 35-1D or Better Audio 1600... don't really want a JBL 1200.1 b/c of all the horror stories i've heard of them frying b/c they lack a SSF but i might have to end up settling for it since its a good $100 cheaper than anything else i've seen that really compares...

hopin this will give me a good SQL setup and hopefully will hit about 143db...maybe more w/ the right box.

any ideas L_fty?

BTW will probly end up going Premier DEH-P850MP, SPX-177a, and RE XXX but i have no clue about amp.... i'm buying the HU within 2weeks so i really need input

editL had to edit twice cuz the smiles were mean to me

Sounds like its going to be a great sound system.

Damn the RE XXX? LOL you are a basshead heheheh
Them bi.tches are rated 1600watts rms
I've heard an MMATS juggernaut running about 2500watts in a guys truck at a local meet.. LOL easily had about 145db going... my ears rang for a few hours LOL

Given that the RE's motor structure is made for heavy current consumption and efficiency is out the door with these things.. unlike the brahma's motor structure which surprisingly was made to be somewhat effiecient.. that sub can get mighty loud with about 600-1000watts easy. No need to go out and find the biggest amp...

1000watts+ amps to consider:
JL/1000
Tsunami DB 1100
Avionixx 1200.2
Hifonics XI-zeus-FR 1200watts bridged
PPI-PCX2400 1600watts bridged
Orion 1200D 1200watts bridged @1ohm
good ol JBL 1200.1

to name a few
