Mounting a PDA

OK, so I've been trying to mount my GPS PDA and I'm having a hell of a time finding the perfect spot/mount. I don't want a windshield suction cup mount because I already have a radar detector and I don't want another thing sticking to my windshield. I tried a vent mount, but it angles weird and there is too much of a glare. Cup holder mounts would be fine if our cup holders were more foward, but they aren't. Does anybody know what else I can do? Does anybody know if those suction cup mounts will mount onto our dash instead of a windshield? Thanks in advance.

Didn't you just sell your Garmin iQue 3600? So I'm guessing you bought another one. Which GPS PDA did you get?

Yeah I just sold it, I ended up getting the HP iPAQ hw6515 which is also a cell phone and GPS, two birds with one stone!

It doesn't look like HP offers any kind of car mount for this product, which is kind of weird. But here is an aftermarket dash mount unit.

I don't really want anything that is permanently on my dash. I'm going to try and use one of those suction cup holders... but instead of putting it on my windshield I'm going to try putting it on my dash. I wish I could have gotten one of those avic-n2's instead but where I live, it'll probably end up getting stolen within a week haha.

Our dash is textured so a suction cup isn't going to hold onto it. You're better off relocating the radar detector (if it's in the middle of the window) and just sticking the mount to the window. If you try sticking the suction cup mount to the dash, it will most likely slide right off and drop right into the A/T shifter.

how about the part between our gauages and the streering wheel? the smooth plastic part, do you think it'll stick to that? lol.. that'll be kind of ghetto, but w/e works.

If you mount it there, you'll block your view of the gauge cluster .

i have something that u could use that looks oem and will be the bomb. it has been around for a while. no drilling, no new holes, perfect area, right next to the stereo. the part will allow u to mount different things. the part is about 50-60 bucks.
