Rear side markers??

Ok..I am getting my new kit on and I really didn't feel like paying more to have the guy cut my fiber glass rear bumper to put the side markers on. Does anyone know if it's illegal? And does anyone else NOT have side markers?

My car will be done on Friday

its not illegal, cuz as far as i know, the sedan doesnt have them period, so it shouldnt matter if your coupe doesnt have them. they dont do anything like signal or anything like that, and most likely cops arent gonna know that your car shoulda had rear sidemarkers. youll be fine.

sedans brake lights wrap around the side and the coupes dont. my side markers were actually turn signals (fully functional).

your sidemarkers blink!? mine dont, and never did. i coulda sworn on my life they all just lit up unless wired differently. anyway, i still wouldnt worry about it. like i said, i seriously doubt any cop is gonna notice that your car doesnt have the proper sidemarker, unless cops in your town are real sticklers.

I re-wired mine to blink when I had my first body kit on but this time around, I don't think I want them on my car at all!

it IS illegal...

every car that is made MUST be visible at night...which includes from the front, rear and SIDE!!!
some cars have tail lamps that start from the rear and curve around the side of the vehicle...(i.e. 6g accord sedan)
others have tail lamps that can only be visible from the rear and not from the side...(i.e. 6g accord coupe)...therefore the coupes were given sidemarkers...
this concept is the same for the front of the car...

oh, and...the sidemarkers do NOT blink...StacyB's sidemarker blinkers are a DIY function...

then again...i dont have them on my rear bumper either and i doubt cops look for it or even know about that idea...

i think thats one of the hardest things to ever get busted for unless you have import cops that check for everything vtecaznracer got it right even the preludes and VW GTIs Celicas have sidemars in the front since they got flat type front
