Need some rims for my stock 01' coupe

Hello everyone. I really want to change the rims on my '01 accord coupe. they have the stock 16's on them. i want to put 20's on it, but am not too sure. would i have to mess with the suspension or do any other mods to have it fit? i am willing to go with 18's if 20's are too much of a hassle. ima youngin (17), and this is my first car, so excuse my ignorance. the reason i want the 20's so bad, is because i can get them w/ tires for $800 from a friend. i'm only working with about $1200, so any advice would be helpful. thanks again, and i'll post pics when its all finished.

We all start somewhere. I'm glad you're looking for different people's opinon.

$800 for 20's may sound appealing, but you gotta consider other factors such as brand and quality.

Personally, I'd stay from 20's. There's a few that can pull off 19's but normally, 18's are perfect. Also with 18's, you can have a nice drop with the proper suspension.

I have 18's and I'm pretty happy with them. Good luck on your search.

with $1200, perhaps you could look into getting a nice springs/shocks combo. depending on what you get, you'll most likely have loot left over to add some other nice accessories, e.g. intake, etc.

you'll be 5 billion times happier with just a dope drop/ride...as opposed to having a horrible ride on 20's, and worrying about every bump. plus, i didn't even start mentioning how bad/ricey it'll look w/o any other mods.

if yo'ure deadset on getting some wheels, then consider using every penny of that $1200 to get a nice NEW set of 18's (w/ tires). 20's will be a headache.

^ haha i know, im not for the rice look. thanks for the honest opinions guys... i will definitely take them into consideration.

edit: what kind of mods should i buy for the suspension? i been told by a few friends i should just drop my ride, and now that i think about it, that would be pretty sick. i know next to nothing on technical terms for suspension. what should i look into?

Stick with 18's and a nice drop. 20's believe it or not are too big for our wheel wells (IMO). I think that 18's would look the best because they are big but not too big, and you still have some rubber to help protect you from those nasty potholes.

I think 20's would be harder on your brakes too. You would probably go through pads and all those other great braking components real quick.

Just get 18's with a nice drop and you'll probably be more satisfied.

BTW I'm 17 too so I'm in the same boat
