Gauging Interests: JDM style 1x1 weave Carbon hoods

I have a few members ask about the JDM style weaved hoods. They say it'll flow with their mugen, type R or Wings West lip kits nicely. I have a resource to a Japan based carbon supplier. If there are about 5 of you guys interested in this 1x1 weave carbon hood then I can have 5 of them made for anyone that is interested. With the carbon costs rising I'm doing my best to keep costs down, especially with the 1x1 carbon from Japan. I'm estimating costs to be between $350-375. Anyone interested please post below or email me [email protected] Pictures of the jdm 1x1 and 2x2 standard weave are shown below.

give us a friggen break with adding JDM to everything. ITS NOT A JDM WEAVE! ITS BECAUSE THAT SUPPLYER CAN NOT GET THE 2X2 WEAVE. so he calles it JDM to make it better than 2x2 weave? wtf?!

I don't know the difference between 1x1 and 2x2. I thought 1x1 would be better, since it would be a tighter weave... but I think I messed up on my knowledge of carbonfiber terminology.

I believe it refers to the way the squares are laid out in the carbon fiber patterns.

It is basically how the fibers of the carbon fiber are laid out.

the only reason they call it 'jdm' is because spoon makes their hoods with 1x1 twill. thats just their own little thing, but it doesnt mean that 1x1 twill is the new jdm thing.

Either way, the starter of this thread needs to contact Rich (v6p sn: Dizzy) for this. Until you have contacted him, this thread will remain closed until the necessary approval is gained.

Thanks
