HOMELINK Installed!!!

Well I was going to buy a homelink from a member on here but after trying to purchase it from them for two weeks I gave up on it and went up to the junkyard. I purchased it for $32 bux and its the same color as the one i had in there. I even figured out how to take off the sun glass door so i could swap it with my original one. I did this because mine had a piece of carbon fiber on it....I didnt want to lose out on that

That is all

lol i knew there would be someone who would want pics so I took them

The first pic is of what I now have in the car, the big piece of carbon fiber was on the other "dome light"

The second pic is the old "dome light" i had in the car with the other piece of cf on it.

the third pic is a close up of the cf and the 4th pic is some quick work i needed to do to the homelink "dome light" cuz that part was brokenl....it looks jacked up but its working greatly!

I like the CF where the HomeLink was in the second pic...not feelin the big piece of CF though. I guess it would depend on how the rest of your interior is. Still great ideas either way! And HomeLink (like SeaFoam) is my very best friend.

^^^ what trim level accord did you get the homelink unit from SE, EX and is it a V6 model or not? Reason why I ask:

[QUOTE=99%StockAV6]I bought a Homelink (garage door opener)/map light/sunglasses holder assembly out of a wreaked Accord EX V6. I though it would be a simple bolt-on mod but Honda designed it to be a little harder for LX owners. First of all the wiring is the same so that is not a problem. If you look at the back of the two units you can see the problem. Honda made the back of the sunglasses holder shorter in LX version so the EX version won't sit flush with the headliner. Based on the part numbers I found later it looks like a bolt-on mod for I4 EX/SE Accords.

I have an ex, so the swap went simple. now if you have a lx there is a simple little task of cutting a piece on the underside of the holder and you can fit it in.....

I think the homelink was standard on all Accord V6 EX models. But as long as your accord has the factory sunroof, it would just bolt up fine. I installed the homelink on my LX v6, only issue is that there is a slight gap facing the rear seat portion.

I'm sure if you tried to drill out or use a dremel to remove the dimple and used a washer to compensate the opening, i'm sure it would fit flush.

i used my gfs directions...

If i remember you can reset the buttons by holding button 1 &3 for 30 secs
then with your original garage door opener hit the button on the homelink and opener at the same time...it should sync within 10-15 secs test...if it doesnt work then you have to go to the garage door opener and push the button on the box and then hold down the button on the homelink. that worked for me!
