mugen front lip...unpainted?

hey all... I'm considering about buying a Mugen front lip for my 2002 black av6 coupe. do you think it would still look good unpainted?? cause I know it comes in black. also, would it look alright for the time being with no sideskirts and no rear lip?

no sides and rear is fine. but unpainted lip is kind of iffy...you could even DIY it I DIY'd my lip before i repainted my car it was easy. Go down to autozone, buy a can of primer, prime sand and all the prep (remember prep is like 50percent of painting) and then shoot about 2coats of base then clear it. You can pretty much purchase paint at any local automotive paint store. Good luck man. Unpainted lip really kills the look of the car though especailly on black cars lol

hey thanks for the responses. if I were to paint it myself, how many coats would it need? I've never painted car parts, so I really have no clue about it, but I saw that Doc X got OEM paint somehow. Anyway, how much do you think it'd cost to have it painted professionally?

did you think it looked completely off because of not having the shine like the OEM paint? yours looks good in pictures, but I'm just wondering if in person the color looks a little off.

He only got OEM paint because the dealership broke his lip..he got lucky lol.

Professionally, really depends on where you go. Ive seen as low as 120 and as high as 300 just for front lip. Sometimes it's hard to color match also.

geez those lips are that fragile?? :-\ I love them though. might as well not spend a buttload on painting the front lip then if I get it. might as well just diy from auto zone, but Idk how.

anyway, what do you guys think about eyelids on blackhoused TYCs on a black accord? and I could DIY paint those too right? and last question, what's better, vinyl sticker eyelids or polyurethane eyelids?

Carbon Fiber Eyelids... :3

Well, Vinyl sticker will be much cheaper, for the same effect, I personally have not seen many Polyurethene Eyelids. I had ABS plastic ones before. You can definitely DIY paint the eyelids. As for ABS lips, they are fairly fragile, but if you drive carefully and not hit random objects on the freeway like I did you should be fine. Both times when I broke my lip was when I was driving late at night and I wasn't careful enough to avoid big rocks or something that took out the lips.

polyurethane eyelids. since they come in black, maybe I wouldn't have to paint them. Idk if I want them or not, cause Idk how they look with the tycs.

yeah I think I'm gonna hold off for a while, and I don't ever want any pointless carbon fiber on my car, so that's why I'm not interested in the carbon fiber eyelids. I'd rather get a mugen front lip and some shocks before eyelids.

Somebody is getting raped on the lip especially if they are in Socal. I got my front bumper painted professionally for $100 OEM paint looks identical well not counting the weathering and oxidation.
