2000 AV6 Removing Clear Plastic Over Gauges

I bought a gauge over lay that is aluminum with the chrome trim rings. I tried installign the last night but had no luck at how to get teh clear plastic cover off. I took the guages out and was able to remove the clear and black part from the gauges themself. But looked like it was glued together. Does anybody know how that clear peice come off. It already got me going becuase I could not figure out that part and then installed the gauges back and then my d4 would not come on so had to take them back out and switch the bulb with d1 but fixed that issue.

what black and clear stuff??

I dont know what you are talking about but for more detailed description, search first.

If you are talking about the gauge cluster cover, you remove like 4hex screws and just work on the glue kuz its glued to the plastic.

I looked on here for gauges but is was all about changing the bulbs. Yes it is removing the clear plastic from the black area behind it. Sorry if I did not explain better. I took out the two front hex screws and the ones on the back to hold down the top peice it came off fine. I just could not find how to take the clear off and thought somebody might have done it before. I talked to the place I bought them and said that the clear piece just cliped on but I could not see where. Mostly looked glued like you said. I just dont want to have to cut them apart I have done that before on other vehicles.

Trying to install something like this

Here is a pic of the clear plastic lens Im talkign about.

Remove upper bolts(2) then lower bolts(2) You can see these if you pull the steering wheel down under the little curtain thing. Then remove the black frame around the gauge cluster, pull the cluster out, and in a pull motion.. pull the clear plastic off the cluster. Don't be impatient and a dumb ass like myself and crack the plastic piece. -_-'

i think the clear lens is glued to the black face.

I was not paying that much attention to it when i took my gauges out that's why I am not so sure.

On my accord, the CLEAR cover was attached via legs that act as clips that go into the white backing. simply push the "legs" out. Take a picture of the bottom of your gauge cluster and I'll circle them up in paint/photoshop. I believe there are 3 at the top and 2 at the bottom.
