Maintenance Required Light

From a 6th Gen (2001) AV6 manual. Any future threads about the maintenance light will be locked.

Yeah, and for those of you who had been referred here for creating threads on subjects like this, please read the manual that came with your car. Your only going to neglect it further if you don't know what's going on.

hey guys i did this and it still didnt turn off the light . should i just disconnect my battery and see what happens?

sometimes u have to try different variations of the procedure. what the manual says doesnt work for me, or at least i dont think it does.

i actually have to turn my car while holding the button for it to work for me

Man, my light won't come on for another 1k miles. It's going to be 3 months before I can finally try my hand at resetting the damn thing

I did it, its easy, it worked fine. now all i have to do is actually rememember to reset it again when i do service it that way i dont cheat myself on the next service.

Interesting I read the exact page but I missed the last paragraph on how to reset the light, I must be blind. Here I am looking for the a fix. I read up to the dealer sentence, and thought thats a bummer to have dealer do it. Thanks.
