need help removing lower intake manifold

can anyone let me know if its necessary to pull the heads in order to remove the lower portion of the intake manifold on a 1998 Honda accord v6 engine.

Don't need to remove heads, you need to remove one side first I think it is the one towards the firewall first. Read thread CL-S intake manifold swap, it gives info on there. what r you trying to do

Haynes manual is a life saver and is only like $30. Runner sit on the heads, so you just have to remove the Upper IM to get to them.

The front one is cracked and needs replacing. I undid the bolts/nuts holding both sides down but was unable to get them off. I'll try removing firewall side first and see what happens.

Got them out, but still having a idling problem. Check engine light came on, code says to replace idle control valve which I did a couple weeks ago. Still got some figuring out to do. Any tips would be appreciated.
