Can anyone get cam specs from honda/acura?

Guys, we have been trying to figure out which cam is better, the type-S cams or the 03 accord cams [J30A4]
We already have the lift numbers, but thats it. If ANYONE can get us duration numbers, especailly at .050 tappet lift, and lobe seperation that would be extremely helpfull!

Yeah pat, if you take a cam to a good machine shop they can get the specs off it for you. I forgot you are ordering the J30A4 cams, and toby [Ei-ccord] already has some type-S cams. SWEET! You guys just got recruited to figure this out!

I don't think patrick is back from europe yet. If he is, hes too busy to do anything yet. I have yet to have someone offer to get their type-S cams checked at a machine shop.....

I couldn't find this anywhere else so I'll post it here. These are cam lobe height (top to other side) in millimeters.
Code:
Engine: Primary, VTEC, Secondary, Exhaust
J30A1: 34.615, 36.210, 31.188, 36.076 (1997-1999 3.0CL 1998-2002 Accord V6)
J30A4: 35.041, 36.445, 35.284, 36.326 (2003-? Accord V6)
J32A1: 34.615, 36.272, 31.188, 36.076 (1999 3.2TL)
J32A1: 34.737, 36.445, 34.919, 36.326 (2000-2003 3.2TL 2001-2003 3.2CL)
J32A2: 34.737, 36.445, 34.919, 36.389 (2002-2003 3.2TL Type S 2001-2003 3.2CL Type S)
J32A3: 35.041, 36.445, 35.284, 36.326 (2004-? 3.2TL)
J35A1: 35.832, N/A, 31.066, 35.763 (1999-2001 Odyssey)
J35A3: 34.737, 36.445, 34.919, 36.326 (2001-2002 MDX)
J35A4: 34.737, 36.445, 34.919, 36.326 (2002-? Odyssey 2003-? Pilot)
J35A5: 35.041, 36.445, 35.284, 36.326 (2003-? MDX)
I thought there was more of a difference than just the exhaust between 2000+ Type S and non-Type S cams. It also looks like the 1999 TL has crappy cams. I'm not sure I want to try a 1999 TL PCM swap anymore. Below are the official Honda part numbers.

1997-1999 Acura 3.0CL, 1998-2002 Accord V6
14100-P8A-A00 FR CAMSHAFT
14200-P8A-A00 RR CAMSHAFT

1999 3.2TL
14100-P8E-A00 FR CAMSHAFT
14200-P8E-A00 RR CAMSHAFT

2000-2003 3.2TL, 2001-2003 3.2CL, 2001-2002 MDX, 2003-? PILOT
14100-P8E-L00 FR CAMSHAFT
14200-P8E-L00 RR CAMSHAFT

2001-2003 3.2CL Type S, 2002-2003 3.2TL Type S
14100-PGE-A00 FR CAMSHAFT
14200-PGE-A00 RR CAMSHAFT

1999-2001 Odyssey
14100-P8F-A00 FR CAMSHAFT
14200-P8F-A00 RR CAMSHAFT

2002-? Odyssey
14100-P8F-A01 FR CAMSHAFT
14200-P8F-A01 RR CAMSHAFT

2003-? Accord V6, 2004-? 3.2TL
14100-RCA-A00 FR CAMSHAFT
14200-RCA-A00 RR CAMSHAFT

2003+ MDX
14100-RCA-A10 FR CAMSHAFT
14200-RCA-A10 RR CAMSHAFT

Are these lift numbers? And doesn't the J30A4 use a 3 rocker arm VTEC system? Does anyone know if this will work?

So the 99 TL not only uses the accords 4sp auto but also its cams, poor TL

The 03 MDX uses the same cams as the 03 accords, which by lift numbers alone seem to be the best cams, BUT we still don't have duration numbers. Lift is great and all, but duration is whats important.

VTEC-V6, you'll notice ALL cams have less duration in non-VTEC mode on one side compared to the other. This is to induce swirl and improve combustion efficancy and emissions

didnt someone finally come to the conclusion that the j30a4 wont fit, the j30a2 you can get them, but you have to get them machined. someone on here has one left that is machined, i dont know about 98-99 but you might only need the one. one of the mods has them

The 03+ AV6 Cams won't fit the 98-02 AV6 or the CL. The 03+ AV6 cams are a few Millimeters longer, so as stated above unless machined they won't fit.

the total cost with installation is like 700 or 800 dollars i think, maybe 600..thats what i payed if im remembering correctly. its good to get your timing belt and water pump changed to if you have high miles, honda suggests 105k for the v6. you get better low end with good valve adjustment and you wil prolly want to tune it somehow. if you end up supercharging, the gains were not that significant as per someone else experience, i think it was like 5hp increase on supercharged apps. or something like that. but for n/a go for it if you got the money to spend. you can do a search on here for a place to buy them, all the info that i have stated except for the price that i payed was found by searching through the forum. sorry i cant recall the place to buy them. try honda or acura places, bu they will be cheaper online, you can find the part numbers on here somewere.

oh the prices i said were not including machining or timing belt and waterpump.

hope that helps and if i was incorrect about something and someone catches it correct me but i think it was accurate
