How do you know if your shocks are giving out?

wondering if my shocks are giving out or they need to be replaced, my ride resently is been very bumpy feels like im driving a slammed car. i feel every bump on the road and i doesn't get much of a smooth ride anymore! i got some tien ssp coilovers should i just install them instead of a replacment of my oem shocks?

check for a fluid leak. if you have a "grainy" looking oil stain on your shocks..they might be leaking. also, push down on all four corners of the car and see how much it bounces. too springy of a bounce, and there you go.

yeah, I love my TEIN's. i tried replacing the shocks and keeping my stock springs. waste of time.
coilovers baby.

so its been a cold few days out here in chciago lately n' the bumpy ride forsome reason has dropped down not too much but its a more comfy ride, got me questioned, r the shocks/springs/struts more lean when cold or what?

you'll feel like you're driving a waterbed if they're blown. lol, well not really, but after going over a bump, the car will want to continue to move up and down as it is not being damped properly. so if it's really bouncy and doesn't quickly settle back down after a bump, then it's your shocks. don't know about the cold issue.

let us know what you find out!

yea, if it feels like your car is bouncing as if it suddenly turned into a trampoline or moon-walk after you go over a bump, they are blown..
