Poping noise in front area

I've had this loud POP noise on my car. I can kind of feel it through the foot well. It happens when:
- Usually when i'm turning a LOT, example would be manuevering out of a parking lot. i would say turn 2 full turns left, right when i want to turn RIGHT it pops
- sometimes when one wheel would go down (wheel gap is huge) when you're going through drive ways and such
- sharp turns sometimes

its always just ONE pop, not that tick tick tick sound.

NO tears in axels, upper ball joints looked fine, wtf is going on?

lower ball joints? motor mounts? axles?

my axles tick, but they arent ripped.

my car has a faint pop, and im pretty sure its my motor mounts. ticking is usually from axles / lower ball joints. both of which i need to replace sooner or later. lol. i haz no more boots on my ball joints.

i'll look that.

motor mounts? 60k on the car, but motor mounts have something to do with turning while not moving doesn't make sense to me. then again i thought i knew what was wrong and the mechanic who took a quick look couldn't figure it out yet.

i personally thought it was the axels or upper ball joints.

any way it can be sway bar related? which is also hard to believe... =[

dont think its sway bar related, unless your bushings are out. and if they are, they would make more of a squeaking noise if anything.

i want to think its the axles. ive been through 3 drivers / 2 passenger ones lol. bout to go through 2 more.

yeah but the mechanic's all like "if you're not moving and it still pops its not axels"

and the boots aren't ripped

so if you turn on the car, leave it in neutral, and just turn the steering wheel full lock to one side... do you hear the popping? if you do im willing to bet its the LCA ball joints.

that's correct, a few months ago it was 90% that i'm in neutral, turn full one way, right when i turn the opposite way it POPS, its loud and you can feel it through the footwell.

the other 10% of the time its hard turns while moving or when I go up driveways and the wheel decompresses (large wheel gap). also when I jack up my car i heard it a few times...

I had a strange sound similar to popping before and I felt it with my feet on the footwell also. But this only happened when I was moving and going over bumpy roads. I had friends jump around in my car when it was not moving so I can locate the source of the sound and it turned out to be the sway bar. One end of the sway bar was not tightened enough to the endlinks and would make a sound when the sway bar moved. Not sure if my situation is the same as yours since yours only happens when you turn your wheels.

Everyone loves pictures. You know that if you see a thread title that could have pictures inside, and there are none, you leave disappointed.

ok, i just fixed my clanking / popping noise issue... i doubt this is your problem, but im just throwing it out here for ya

my k frame bolts were hella loose (i removed the k frame for the tranny swap), probably because my friends snap on impact failed me. i jacked up the car today, busted out my breaker bar and a 3 ft pipe and tightened them bishes.

now my car is silent.

and here i was the whole time thinking they were my ball joints (although they still do need to be replaced)

damn i coulda got pwnd so bad if i drove another week like this. aka whole front end falling out LOL.
