running 17's?

hayy

i'm thinkin about going down to 17's, but im not really quite sure how it would look on a coupe.

i've seen keiths sedan, and it doesnt look too bad... but i really cant make up my mind.

the 17's im looking at are 17x8.5 with an offset of 25.

only reason i would consider going down an inch is for acceleration purposes, but i still dont want my car looking like total ass :P

any suggestions? or pics of coupes on teh 17's?

thx

You could run some 235/45/17s on 8.5" rims. I'm running those tires on 17x8" rims. I think a tad more stretch would make them look great. And there's plenty of meat on those tires.

if you're doing 17s, avoid rims with a lip. The CL-S Wheels will look large than it is, and it'll be a great setup.

But any wheels with lip will make it look 1" smaller, unless the lip is HUGE!

He'd have to raise it up in the back. Otherwise meaty tires aren't gonna work period.

heres my coupe with my 17's 7.5 +45offset tho..with really small 215/40 tires..can barley drive it. need alot bigger tires and raise it car up
subframe/tow hooks hang way to low in the front.

this is with a very small incline.

I HAD 17s on my car but they looked small to me because of the lip.

17x7 front with +35 offset, 17x8 rear with +35 offset.

215/50/17 all 4 corners. I think I went with a 45 series tire.

think 225/50 would look to weird, with the fender sitting right above the tire along with quarter?

if u get 17's make sure their lightweight so u can get all the benefits from them. aim for under 20 pounds. Lots of wheels will fall in that category.

Also for tires dont get 215/50/17 cause they look too tall. get 235/45/17 instead

^ahh, I see: Tirerack specs show 18lbs.

I'm looking at the same General Exclaim UHP for my 17" rims. They are light for good straight line performance, but not sure about sidewall stability. But I never do any high speed cornering that would necessitate a stiff sidewall.
