Inspire headlights output/performance

Ok so, everybody drools and oohs and ahhhs over the Inspire headlights... But I have never seen any pics of the output/distance/width/brightness, etc. of Inspire headlights.

Can those with Inspires post up *a bunch* of pics from different angles/different distances, etc. of the output of your Inspire headlights?

Thanks

Hmmm, not too far off from what I was expecting....

So here's my next question: Why do some people spend up to $1000+ for an Inspire headlight setup that performs like that^ (and will also have the "step" of the beam going up to the left blinding oncoming traffic) instead of a retro that will perform much better and cost less than half?

The only answer I can come up with is exclusivity.

By the way, I'm not bashing anyone who has Inspires or wants to get them, I'm just curious, because I really can't see these performing better than retroes, and there seem to be alot less pros than cons with these in my opinion. So I'm trying to see where everybody's mindset is, or at least maybe see a pic where it actually performs amazingly for HID reflector headlights.

In these pics, they seem to have very little distance lighting (like most HID reflectors) even though they do seem to be aimed a little low. They also don't seem very wide either.

several reason. First they don't want to pay that much for a oem retrofit. They want to be different, and they want OEM honda parts. I ono that just my guess

I got inspires because to me the housing look better the usdm headlights, better then any set of retrofits, quads what ever. To me they also look better at night, (not talking about brightness) and sure they are not as bright as a retro with high quality projectors (oem s2000s, etc) but they plenty bright compared to the stock lighting.

It's a trade off, to me there were more pro's than con's, I was not interested in having the brightest lights out there or the sharpest cut off line, I just wanted some lights that didn't look like every other accord out there and that looked good at the same time.

Price wise the set up was over 1500 (everything new) once all was said and done, so ya I could have gotten the craziest projector set up but to me it would still look like most retrofits out there, that's the main reason I went with the inspires over a retro.

And if I had to do it again I would do it the same.

I would not want to look like either personally lol.

Seriously though, the Inspires do look good, and I also very much like the look of retroes.

But my way of thinking is: If I'm going to be spending money on headlights, an extravaggant amount of money at that, maximum performance and safety for the pricerange are going to be the main objectives.

Also, being able to mod/change things is a big plus. Generally, no 2 retroes are exactly alike, and many don't really look alike either (except with 7th gens where alot of people use the E46 shrouds).

Yeah exclusivity and that unique factor basically.

Your car looks great with them, and Inspires certainly go with your theme. I wouldn't change the front of your car either.

What I mean about performance though is not cutoff or even brightness necessarily, but moreso being able to see for a long distance and a nice width, and being able to do so with a uniformly lit coverage area.

I first did my retrofit when I was going to school in the mountains and doing a lot of night driving. Performance (coverage) and safety were the main reasons for doing it. Of course I wanted my car to look cool too. Now after having one set of retroes, I'm hooked.

Someone needs to retro a set of Inspires! The ultimate setup

You cant retro the inspires.. not the way they are design, the low beam reflectors are covered up that you can't even see where the lights are coming from.. you can't even see the bulbs of the inspires from the front of the lights..inspires are way better looking than any retro out there. Plus now that morimoto projectors are so easy to use that everyone and their mothers has projectors..

I know you can't retro Inspires, I just think if you could it would be the ultimate setup. The reflector areas in the Inspires are way too small for even fog projectors to sit in.

Inspires look hot, but I think its subjective as to which one looks better. To me, a nice clean retro tips the scales a little. Call me crazy

The biggest thing that turns me off of Inspires is that the beam is setup for other-side-of-the-road driving. So it is essentially blinding oncoming traffic on US roads

Seems like you can just fix that by adjusting the height of the headlights, no?

^ Word. There has to be an adjustment factor built into the OEM headlights..

TBH I find the way the Inspires are layed out flows better with the body lines to. The split line in the middle of the light lines up with the hood line which gives it a much cleaner look.

You can lower the lights yes, but then you venture into the realm of having your lights too low for you to effectively see as far as you need to.

You like the look of Inspires better than the look of retroes, that's cool. But performance-wise, Inspires aren't better.

Speaking of which, your OEM headlights without reflectors actually look really nice on your car.

Go with a retro if you want function over form. Inspires for vice versa
To me the light output is most important when I drive at night hence I choose the retro.

i'll gladly take a set of inspires over my fx-r retro's. i'll lose a lil in light output. but, i would most likely be the only person in the state of Georgia with them which matters the most to me.
