Second Amplifier Installation Help

Just ordered a 300/4 JL Audio amp to go with my 1000/1. The 1000/1 has already been hooked up for some time. I would like to add the 300/4 to my system. Just needed to know exactly what I need to do this myself and save from getting raped by a shop. The first amp was installed by a friend. Im some what familiar with everything but I have never connected an amp to the back of the stock HU. Im not sure if I need a wiring harness or what. I have the RCA's, speaker wire, ground, power with fuse. Im sure I can run all the other wires just not sure about the back HU. Does anyone know of a DIY or can someone please help me out. Very desperate. Thanks.

Its an 06 with navi.

Been thinking of doing this same thing, as stock speakers and subs are not cutting it. I like the HU and don't wanna install a different one. Subscribed.

Btw excellent choice in amps my friend. I had a 1000/1 I miss it.. although I never used it because I bought it for my 13.5" W7 and didn't care to install it in my Accord

very simple. For signal, if you have a 1000/1 it should have a preout rca jack. set the preout to full range and plug your rcas from this preout to your 300/4. as far as power goes you will need to either run a second run of power from the battery, or depending on what gauge wiring you went with for the 1000/1 you will split this using a distribution block (fused preferably) and with the ground you could also use a distribution block (non fused) or run an additional ground wire to the same ground location of your 1000/1.
any other questions feel free to PM me.

What did you do with it Matt? After reading tons of reviews on good amps, I went with the 1000/1 a few years back. Found it on propertyroom.com. Got for less than half the price in great condition. Always wanted the 300/4 to go with it and since I had to replace my blown rear speaker with a new set, I decided to get the amp on ebay. Got the black edition. =)

So if I'm looking to upgrade all my speakers I won't need a new amp and the stock should power them fine?

well make sure you get the right speakers... if you are trying to run them off the factory deck you will need to get a set of coaxials.

the best thing you could ever do for an audio system in one of these cars is get an after market deck. A high quality head unit makes your expansion possibilities endless. I'm looking into a fourth amplifier to power my rear doors and possibly custom a pillars now.

Would an equalizer make a significant difference in quality and clarity with my stock deck?

Is the Cleansweep really worth it for using the stock HU?
