Perfect HID Color

Hey everyone,

I'm look for the perfect set of HID's. The problem is I've only seen the correct look on cars in passing. I unfortunately don't know if they are 6000s, 6500s or even 8000s. The look I am looking for is a super bright white with the slightest hint of blue. I mean like a drop of blue! Although yes, I could buy a set HIDs, I don't know which manufacture really has the look I am looking for. And once I find the manufacture where can they be purchased. Also is what I am looking for just HIDs with a specific ballist. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

5000k

4300k is yellow/white (OEM *philips and osram*)
5000k is mostly white (new OEM standard *CBI bulbs*)
6000k is mostly white with a hint of blue

anything over 6000k and you lose output

don't buy xentec. total crap and returns. Theretrofitsource makes top notch stuff. Done over 30 retrofits using them.

Listen to my friend^
He is very knowledgeable about this stuff.

I would personally go for 6000k since it offers a nice output with a little blue.

DDM is very decent for the price with a good warranty.

Morimoto mini. Super easy. If you want oem projectors then rx330 or s2k. Don't even bother with tsx. Oem projectors requires cutting.

After checking both sites obviously thisaznboi suggestion of theretrofitsource is the one I have to go with. The sets look amazing. This how I think they are supposed to be set up, please let me know if anything is wrong.

Low Beams: 9006 wiring harness, 35 watt ballast, and 6000k bulb
Fog Lights: H11 harness, 35 watt ballast and 6000k bulbs

that looks perfect, just saying tho a lot of people like to run 3000k in the fogs for that "jdm" look and the contrast is nice

So no not cutting/modifications would be necessary with morimoto mini's?

You still need to open up the housing and some cutting may be necessary, but the are cheaper than a full retrofit and provide similar results in cutting the glare. I have not installed them in an accord but other applications needed it. Morimoto stuff is top notch, I recommended them to my brother who put them in a brand new Honda Fit. He got 5K and got the perfect white, with the smallest hint of blue out of any HID kit Ive seen. The Ebay 4300 and 5K are all basically 6K realistically. Morimoto is the only place that has bulb temperatures closest to what they advertise.

if you do mini with mini gatling gun shrouds then zero cutting.

gen 7 accord Morimoto H1 Chrome Photos by thisaznboi88 | Photobucket

If you do any other shroud combination then, yes cutting. I like the mini verison 4. The newest one suck because someone kept *****ing about adding a foreground limiter. And it didn't turn out as well as the older one.

FYI I am retired so I can't help you with parts or building a set. Sorry.

One puts out more power than the other. 35Watt put out less light than 55Watt
