TL dash

I have an 06 AV6 sedan and have always loved the look of the dash of the Acura TL. It has a smoother and cleaner look. Is it possible (or has it been done) to replace our original dash with the one from the TL? Some might say" Why not just buy a Tl?" The Acura TL does not have a clean, smooth look like the 7gen Accord. Its very contoured and looks older. Our car just looks better. I'm just trying to get the inside to match the outside...

maybe.

The design and contour differences may be overcome by making a custom fiberglass shroud for the cluster. The bigger question for me would be whether the TL cluster even fits the space in the accord? kaotik - did the TL cluster fit inside the space (with the accord trim pieces removed)? or was it just too big?

Then there are the electronics... which could be the deal-breaker. The accord cluster receives a multiplexed signal from the ECU containing multiple bits of data such as speed, RPM, coolant temp, and other signals... in ONE wire. I'm sure the TL cluster does the same... but if the same signal configuration is not used... the TL cluster won't recognize the Accord signal.

The workaround for this is probably too much work/time/money. It would require:
1) obtain a TL cluster
2) disassemble the TL cluster
3) disassemble the accord cluster
4) build a custom breadboard to sandwich between the TL cluster faceplate, and the accord cluster circuitboard
5) wire individual LEDs and stepper motors to the accord circuit board, and positioned according to the TL faceplate.

Now, if the TL cluster reads the accord signal properly, no need to do those 5 steps, and your only limitation is the physical shape and dimensions.
