Acura TL Bi-Xenon Retrofit...Complete.

Finally sealed up the newest retro today and got them mounted Went with the OEM Acura TL Bi-Xenon projectors, clear 3" ZKW-R lenses, and modified each projector to produce that perfect amount of bluish-purple hue at the cutoff. All-in-all I am very happy with the outcome. I will have my OEM Acura TSX retro up FS shortly if anyone is interested. Oh yea, one last thing...I blame Keith.

On with the pics (I won't post all of them as there are many, many, many haha but I'll hit the key points):

Opening up my OEM 2007 EX-L V6 coupe (damn near perfect) lenses - I almost wanted to cry haha

Rigged up a custom relay that prevents the projector solenoids from picking up the pulse signal our DRLs sends back and forth to the module:

After projector tweaking, this was my results (mmmm purple!!)

An HDR shot of the cutoff:

Purrrrplllleeee

and one on me:

Custom high-beam relay wired up and taped:

Aiming inside the house:

Initial on-vehicle aiming:

OEM Matsu (Infinity/Nissan) Gen V D2S 35W ballasts mounted in the same manner (very OEM style) as my TSX had:

On-vehicle aiming complete (this was yesterday so I will take more tonight in the dark!)

Look at the Godly dual high-beam!

Once aiming was completed, the Gatling Gun shrouds and OEM bezels received a final trim, the headlamps were cleaned, and the bottom of the housings received waterproofing around the ballasts, solenoid cutout, etc.

Lastly, got those babies sealed up and mounted! Final aiming (vertically) will be completed here in about an hour when it gets dark

OEM rubber seal reused around the projector body and you can see my pigtail for the solenoid:

MOUNTED!

It wasn't easy...lol I'm still having a little bow on the driver side which I need to further investigate - might just be a bulb seat issue

Looking good, however, I think you could have used a few more clamps just to make sure it seals properly.

Yeah, I see a few bare spots of plastic that could use some clamping!

Nice job, they look really good.

Well this retro took me longer than expected, but I was also in my last semester finishing my 2nd degree (graduated Saturday) plus work. All-in-all it took me at 2-3 weeks but if time was no factor I could've finished it in probably a day or two haha

Im not usually a fan of how most retro fits look on these cars but this is superb. Quality work and the result definitely looks OEM.

Thanks, Dan! That means a lot to me; esp. with how much time and effort I put into it.

I just got back from a drive after tweaking the cutoffs a little more today in the church parking garage (people starting coming for service and were looking at me oddly like "wtf is he doing??" LOL) The beam is now a lot more acceptable than what it was yesterday. I took hwy & country roads to ensure proper sign illumination and distance testing. I have one word for that quad high beam... WOW. It is literally like having a 5,000K full moon out with the sun shining over top! haha I love it.

Wow.... That looks so good. You did a great job. I have TSX Retro's in my aftermarket lights but i been thinking of swapping them into my Spare set of OEM lights i have in the attic. I am digging the TL ones though. Since you had the TSX before.. is the TL's better as far as low beam output or is it about the same besides being Bixenon?

TL's blow TSX's out of the water in just about every aspect. The TSX's are a good entry level projector but pale in comparison to many others out there.

^^ This.

I knew when doing the TSX retro that the TL's were wider, sharper and had a much better dispersion of light across the beam. However, at the time, I did not feel like dealing with a Bi-Xenon and DRL setup so I just quickly retro'd the TSX - which will now belong to our girl Jamm!! I'm so excited she's taking them as our cars are like twins and she'll take really good care of them.
