7.5 gen lip install 05 coupe

*well **** it the guy messed up the paint and put to much of a purple flake in it so im taking it back to get repainted again....

*finished*

minimal gaps looks great, you can only see its not a perfect fit if your a few feet away and even then its stuff only i know isnt suppose to be like that. no one would ever pick up that its not a perfect fit.

Thanks everyone for the pictures of your rear lips they helped a lot.

seeing how i never post anything meaningful im going to show some fitment pictures and install progress in this post. this is the 7.5 gen rear lip on a 03-05 rear bumper.

bumper took about a whole 3 mins to take off once i flipped it over it looks like there is 0 cutting while installing the 7.5 gen rear lip on the 03-05 bumper.

Wondering if anyone running this lip right now had to use any extra 3m tape that i should go buy before i peel the honda tape and stick it. Sure wish strikingaccord would chime in.

also what should i do with the gap on both sides of the bumper in the wheel well get some spacers?

here are some pics.

holes line up perfectly

no real idea why the 7.5 gens bumper needs to be cut it looks like this lip fits peftecly around the 03-05 bumper.
its weird that you dont need to destroy it like you do on the updated bumpers.

anyone know what to do with the gaps on the corners and on the sides of the bumper where the 2 screws go in

this gap almost goes away when you pull the sides but then it makes a big gap (see next pic below)

if you pull this out it makes the gaps on the corners go away that you see in the above pic.

so here it sits until i figure out what to do with the gaps on each side

I would pull the sides in the fender well to close the gap up in the back. Use some washers or fab some bracket to keep the tension at the wheel well. That make sense?

Yours seems like it fits really well tho, not that much over hang in the fenders like I have. Did you do anything with 3m double sided tape? Still unsure if I'm going to go get it re painted again there really is way to much blue and purple flake, most people wouldn't notice but its going to bug me.

Had to cut my bumper so the lip can fully go in. I did not use 3M cause no way will it hold the gaps together instead I use silicone then tape it for it to dry for a day. After a day no gaps whatsoever anywhere.

What's the black edge on yours ? Im tempted to put it up for a trade for a 03-05 lip idk we will look at it more when I get off work I just put it all together like a hour before it got dark out.
I'm not worried if itniver hangs on the wheel well but wondering if the screws will be to short if I out a spacer in on each side

^Looks like the 4cyl ones myn doesn't look like that its only got one bar across and it funnels to the air filter.^

so close yet to far still no clue what to do with the gaps i havnt even bolted anything up yet i can already tell the honda sticky tape wont hold it down.

already debating selling it and cutting my losses. its either massive gaps on the corners or massive gaps in the wheel wells like a inch on each side.

so this is where im at today i cant get the honda tape to stick on the sides and this is the gap on each fender well, now i have to take it back off go buy 3m tape and see if that sticks, also i cant line it up with the hole that needs to be drilled so only the one screw goes in.
