Do the cloth seats work in a car that came with leather?

After 200k miles, my leather seats are definitely showing some wear. Looking through salvage yards, the leather seats in other Accords are in similar condition but the cloth seats seem to hold up a lot better. But seems to be compatibility issues with the airbags and seat warmers. Or could a competent shop swap the foam and cloth onto my current seats? I know I could redo the leather but really not wanting to drop a grand or more on all new leather.

Thoughts?

The wrap of cloth itself and the pads are more than likely swappable. Having both I see no reason why they wouldn't be swappable, just watch out for that airbag!

Be nice other than airbag light being on all the time, not sure if I can pass a state inspection without all safety equipment working.

The Seats esp. the Front are NOT interchangeable as directly as you would think

here's what i went through when installing TSX Seats

http://www.v6performance.net/forums/...cord-4-dr.html

HOW TO: install TSX Seats into Accord, 4 dr. - Drive Accord Honda Forums

basically the Rear Bench, should be direct fit, Fronts swapping the Leathers off and putting them on to your cloth seats is the best way to avoid any headaches

Not putting leather on cloth, want to go the other way. I have leather and our leather isn't that durable. The cloth seats hold up a lot better which is why I was considering a switch. Could pick up a full set, front and rear for maybe $350 at a wrecking yard. Redoing all my leather seats would probably be at least a grand.

Interested in hearing this as well. I am not a fan of the durability of Honda leather.

Keep in mind honda/acura uses a lot of vinyl on their leather seats. The wear might be from the vinyl and not leather. The leather quality isn't great either. My racing bucket seats hold up better than the leather in my acura or ford recaros. My racing bucket seat is actually most comfortable seat I have ever sat in. Most ppl assume the opposite.

I also have a set of 06 RSX seats that you can swap in any car.

It's definitely the leather, the sides and back are vinyl, seat faces are leather.

My concern with other seats is the compatibility with the SRS (airbag) system. It won't pass the safety/emission testing here if the airbag light is on.

Yeah, I want to go the other way. Cloth is cooler in summer, warmer in winter and vs the leather in our cars, holds up better. But if it won't work, it won't work.
