s2000 engine start

I need your opinion. I am thinking of installing an engine start button. The OEM S2000 one and i need a location spot. Any input would be great. Thanks

Someone on CarDomain had it in the cig lighter spot and it actually fit perfect! The lid closed okay on it too. I think that's the best spot for it. My second choice would be next to the sunroof and TCS controls.

nice mod. i would go with the cig lighter.

but you still would have to put the key in and turn it to ACC position right?

wouldn't cigarette lighter spot accomplish the same thing and also be easier to fit?

r u sure u want to do this? i've driven an s2000 a few times and the start button thing is actually kind of a hassle. i mean u have to turn the key anyways so might as well just hold it there for an extra sec. and i also don't like the idea of messing with the ignition system.

you should hide the button somewhere so that if someone were to break into your car, they would have to have that button pressed to turn the car on. hide it under your seat or somewhere.

hmm.. that would defeat the show purpose that most people get push button starter for..

it is a hassle. i rather get auto starter. but it's for show i guess. and i think you would still have to put the key into ACC then press it in order for it to start.
you can't just break into the car and press it and drive off.

If you put it in the lighter spot, the flap doesn't stay open, u have to hold it open to press, so why not put it in the other tray which stays open

hmm.. i consider that's a good thing since u don't want it to stay open... flip up.. push button.. and it closes by itself..

tho.. i had mine spring removed from behind long time ago, so it doesn't close automatically..
