did you put it on the plastic piece, or on the shaft itself? if you take the plastic piece out, it'll drop the height.

This is exactly what I've been looking into doing. I've searched my ass of trying to figure out if the fitment of the Momo auto shift knob and 6-speed boot would provide good, clean fitment. How does the Momo knob install? Is it threaded or screw on like the stock auto knob? I'd like to get this thing figured out quickly because I want to do this conversion when I install my iPod next week. How could you shorten the shift lever? Could you cut the metal shaft, then remove that white platic shaft and cut it accordingly?

Plus I couldn't find a picture of Brex's in his gallery. Could someone post it up if they have it handy? Thanks

Man, that does look pretty smooth. The fitment looks nice and snug against the bottom of the shift knob too. So how would you go about shortening the shaft? I'd also like to look into how the 6-speed boot would look with this knob.

Man, I've GOT to do this now. That look awesome! I'd still like to look into putting a boot on there. How does that shift knob connect? Does it just sit on top of the shaft and get fastened down with screws just as the OEM knob does?

I like that one as well, but do you know how the fitment will be? Do you know anyone using it? Th bottom of it looks pretty slim.

Alright, I just said FCK it because I was tired of waiting, so I ordered it. $37 knob + $9 shipping (rip off) and i'll do the install next week when it gets here. I'll be ordering my shift boot (OEM 6-speed boot) from hardtopguy later today.

I'm not too sure what you're asking here, but I think it would look alright without the boot. I just think it looks BETTER with the boot. My friend has a Volvo S40 AT which has the boot from the factory and it looks great. So...we'll just see how it goes.
