Carbon Fiber hood (yes or no)?

I am debating on getting a carbon fiber hood for my car, because i am scared that it will ruin the good looks and make it look cheap, then on the other hand it might look good. What do u think?

If you get a quality hood, it will make your car look anything but cheap. I would recommend Vis, they're the best IMO, you should look for the group buy that they are trying to set up

I have a VIS OEM replica hood on my NHB coupe and it gets the most attention. It is very subtle due to the car being dark and the hood is a few shades lighter. But, the bottom line is a clean car with a clean CF hood attract a lot of positive attenion.

I rec. that you get the VID brand for quality and durability.

i saw a red nissan 240sx (think it was that anyway) in a mag years ago with a cf hood that had been painted red...it still looked like a cf hood, only red cf. i dont know how that works, but oh man that was sooo sweet looking.

you can definately get your cf hood painted.

my roommate had a celica with his hood painted red (matching his body) with the exception of a stripe that followed the raised hood scoop.

that looked hot.

personally i think just a plain CF hood on a red car looks awkward, with the black headlights your moving towards some semblance of a pattern but your are still far away from it looking normal.

maybe get a winddeflector for your moonroof and get blacked rearview mirror covers and then mebbe your talking..

JUST my opinion.

I dont like the CF hoods unless the car is black....If you can somehow get a red C.F look then that would be coooooolllll

How did everyone else with the VIS carbon fiber hoods keep the hood proped up? Do you use the factory hydralic lifters or did you have to use a hood prop like on the 4 cyls?

03 Aero Coupe, what did you do?

On my old car i used the 4 cylinder hood prop, because the v6 hydraulics will put too much force on the hood and could break it.
