SNHONDA3 or Icelink?

So I just picked up my 2004 6-speed w/ navi today and I want my ipod to go in right away. Since I can see ID3 tags anyway, should I just go with the SNHONDA3 for $99 or should I splurg and get the Icelink for $230. Do you think $130 is worth controlling your ipod through the steering wheel?

I was looking on the internet and it appears I can't use the SHONDA3 due to the navigation system. I need to get this instead. I was reading and it says "he HON/SNY ITI V.2 can also be used as a Sony CD Changer interface if no Aux source is installed. It is compatible with CDX-T68, CDX-T69, CDX-T70MX and CDX-757MX Sony Uni-Link CD changers." DOes this mean it does the same thing as the icelink as far as navigating your ipod with the HU and steering wheel controls?

I'm not sure about the compatibility of the unit with Navigation. The steering wheel controls are worth the extra price to me. I find it to be a very convenient feature that I use constantly.

Oh yeah, congrats on the new car. You finally found one!

Yeah, its compatible w/ anything w/ a 3.5mm output. spend the 130, if you plan on keepin the car, think 5 yrs from now, youll be so happy you have the steering wheel controls, all for under $150 bucks

Just to be sure, the blitzsafe will allow me to control it with the steering wheel?

no, blitzsafe is just a soundgate w/ a splitter for the navi. The icelink is what you need for ipod, it has a special adapter, that goes where your firewire would plug into the ipod. You'll need both items.

Icelink

Soundgate, or the blitzsafe.

The adapter comes with the Icelink. But it's only for one port.
You're gonna need to use the blitzsafe in place of the one they ship you with the icelink to get the extra port.

Maybe they'll give you a better price if you tell 'em you don't need the adapter.

sounds like it'll work (according to logjam's writeup) so long as you don't have Navi AND xm.

Ace is right, You can order just the "icelink" itself, its not the whole unit, around $99 i believe for just the icelink feature, then you have to get the blitzsafe if you wanna keep navi, or xm, whatever you wanna use the port for.

okay, so it will be the same price as getting the icelink (around $230)
I'll do it ASAP. Very exciting

You won't regret it. It's awesome.
well.... you might regret it a little when you're wrestling with the flippy compartment. But once you're done with the install you'll be glad you went through it.
