when i removed the front bumper on my '03 v6 coupe auto, i noticed that the grilles look to be molded into the bumper. there's no way to just pop them out. you'd have to cut them out carefully i think. so i can't figure out how the 6 speed grilles would fit in.

yeah, the auto people would have to cut these out, but the 6spd. vents and brackets would go in its place and they will fit.

ok i have a bizarre question. why would honda want 16 cents more for the right front duct cover as opposed to the left one? take a look on that webpage posted above to see what i'm talking about. no i don't care at all about 16 cents, it just seems dumb.

they are different. the drivers side vent is open, the left is all sealed. don't know if this is why though.

i'm interested in the set of 6spd. vents as well if anyone has some from installing fogs. pm me please with a price.
edit: all i need (or anyone with an auto for that matter) is the driver's side vent. if i understand it right, the passenger side vent looks the same for autos and 6spds. if that's not right someone let me know please.

Does anyone have pics of their CAI like this, but with the 6spd vents? I'm worried about even more dirt and water getting in there since it will be more exposed. I still want the vents, but not sure if anyone is having problems with their filter getting super dirty or wet.

Here's mine on my 6-speed. My air filter only gets a little dirtier where it's exposed directly to the air (where the vents are) and even then it's not that dirty.

cool deal. i picked up a set of these and now i am not sure how they are mounted on there. since there are two seperate pieces, i assume one of them holds to the car and the actual vent/grill attaches to the mount.

anyone have experience swapping auto to 6spd vents and know how to install. i know i am going to cut out what i have, but i am not sure how it is going to attach. any suggestions?

As I u nderstand it, you cut out your current vents with a utility knife. The bracket goes inside the bumper and the scooop on the outside, then you screw them together to create a .. .SANDWICH

That's what I took from looking at them, sandwiching it, but I couldn't tell how the bumper would fit into the middle of the sandwich so that it holds. I'm sure I will figure it out when I get in there.

I believe there is a little lip that you do not cut out.

Can anyone tell me for sure before I hack up the bumper and find out they won't work? I know some others have done this, just need to know the specifics.
