7th Gen Navigation (EBAY)

Someone is selling a navigation head unit on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

I wonder if you can fit this in a 03-05 without navigation and get it to work. You will probably need alot of other parts, maybe?

It's tempting, but with the number of DOA feedback comments, I'm either going to go inspect this unit myself (I live nearby) or stay away from it alltogether.

if this was installed in a car w/o nav, would everything else function properly, like radio displays, touch screen, ac controls etc,..of course with the exception of the navi, or is there alot more to it than just simple plug and play.

In theory, yes, it SHOULD work as long as the proper wiring harnesses are there and as long as the NAVI is not dependent on the ECU. You would also need the antenna and the steering wheel switches.

^^^ no code then its useless. i think its possible to install this into a non-navi car. as long you already got the auto a/c it be easier. just gotta find the harness for the navi, voice control button, microphone, gps antenna and other stuff.

I've been wondering if I could install this and JUST use it as a screen.

I guess you could, but why bother??? I think you would need to have the entire system operational in order to even get to the screen where you could control your A/C, etc...

Non-Navi to Navi swap

I'm in the process of doing this now, and it is not as simple as it looks, it seems that honda treats the navi portion, the radio portion and the AC portion differently, if you plan to do this you need to order the helms manual electrical troubleshooting guide, I went to a junkyard because I needed the wiring harness and they wouldn't just sell it to me(There was a similiar one on ebay before) so I brought the whole navi there, the navi connects to so many things its not even funny(basically not for the fain hearted). One can try to do this, but you also must consider that what happens if you finish doing all the wiring and then find out navi doesn't work? When I brought mine from the junkyard they gave me 1 year warranty, thats why I went that route.

Once I get around to it, I will post pics, Im in the process of finding a 25 bundle wire, if someone knows where I can find it, it will greatly appreciated, I don't want to have to put electric tape around 25 wires, and that is onle going from the Navi to the DVD.
