Red face 6-speed shifter assembly

Alright i have searched and searched and have been unable to find an answer to this question. I ordered a new shifter assembly, the shift lever and the shift seat ( the plastic thing that it goes into think its called the seat) that bolts to the car. I have a 6-speed and I am having the new one shortened and re-threaded so that I can have one in the car while I left the other one at the shop so I don't have to have any time with the shifter out of the car, but my question is how do I get the twho cables disconnected from the shift seat. everywhere ive been searchign i have found how to install a short shifter, which i have already done but i need to know how to disconnect the shifter cables from the plastic seat so that i can take the old one out and install the new one...

Well, according to the service manual, there are 4 bolts holding the housing to the floor, a cotter pin holding the cable to the shift lever, and a clip holding the rest of the cable to the floor. So it looks like all you have to do is pull the cotter pin to free the cable from the housing.
