Anyone use the Belkin iPod auto kit?

http://www.ipodlounge.com/index.php/...lkin-auto-kit/

This review gave it great marks but I'm a little unsure how they installed it. They are connecting to the head unit's auxillary input from a line-out, through the 3.5mm jack but is that compatible with the V6 Coupe's head unit?

Belkin's site advertises the usage of this unit as being meant to be plugged with a tape deck adapter or a FM transmitter.

Anyone have this thing? I'm looking to hook up my mini to the Accord and was looking for the best (and most price efficient option). Icelink is pricey and buggy still it seems.

You're going to need a soundgate/blitzsafe adapter or equivalent to get an auxiliary input into the head unit.

I'm still waiting for someone to come up with a cheaper(non FM transmitted) solution since the current AUX input adapters are about $100.

the post is by the member.. oldmanflair.
only thing about the way that guy did it is that he didnt use the belkin auto kit... he uses the battery while its in the car.... if you want to charge the ipod while in the car, you would connect that 1/8 headphone jack to the belkin auto kit, and then plug the dock connector to the ipod.

here is exactly how im going to be doing the install in my car (6th gen). lucky i found a link to this on ipodlounge a few days ago. the way this guy does it is really clean, ALL wires are hidden, even the ipod gets put away into the armrest since you can control everything through the stock stereo and steering wheel controls.
http://www2.et.byu.edu:8080/~jtb8/iP...d_install.html

the P.I.E. Auxillary Input Convertor for my car is only $49.99 but for the 7th gens it's higher... $99.99

you can either buy the non-cradle connector from Dension, or just buy a dock connector extension cable and hook that into the icelink cradle.

extension isn't Dension.
I thought it was Belkin, but I could be wrong.
The Dension cable you'd have to call Dension to get. Just tell them you want to buy the cable with no dock. You'll have to swap it out from where it plugs into the module.

hey, if you buy directly from belkin, i have something that'll be VERY usefull for you.

when you're ordering from them, you'll see an area to enter a coupon code or something, just enter 12345 and you'll get 50% whatever you buy!!!!! thats what i did.

btw, the ONLY good way to connect your ipod to the car is using an auxillary input converter. thats the only way you're going to get good sound quality, pretty much ALL the FM transmitters suck big time. Thats why i opted to spend the extra money to do it the best way, not the quick and simple way. and every penny was worth it!

exactly why i dont like the cradle thing. im planning to call dension on monday, but their set-up is like $200, and if there is no difference in the soundgate with the belkin connection, i rather get that, which will run no mor than about 140.

but the thing is how different if at all is the quality from the iceLink to the soundgate? which is better?
