Installing aftermarket MP3 Deck in bottom cubby hole

Hi Everyone,

I know there have been several threads on this, but I'm still a little confused. I want to install an MP3 aftermarket deck in the cubby hole. I have the factory navigation system too. I know I'm going to have to get the receiver kit from crutchfield shown here:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-SyWgYeP...7862&s=0&cc=01

1) I know I'm going to lose my XM (I'm ok with this)

2) I still want my factory 6-CD changer to work as well as everything else

3) I just want the MP3 deck to play mp3's and use it for radio

From the previous threads, I found one person able to do this, but he said he used the Soundgate. I looked into the soundgate and there are only RCA inputs so that you can connect other devices such as portable mp3 players, etc.

My question is: how do I integrate the aftermarket mp3 deck with the soundgate?

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I did search for it. If anyone can help me out, that'll be great. Thanks everyone..

the only way i think you can make it work is if you turn the speaker wires from the deck into rca's and then connect the rca's to the soundgate

Well, I want to get an aftermarket headunit with an AUX IN so I can still plug a laptop, dvd player, etc while going on long road trips and stuff. Also, the factory one is so expensive!

Yes and No. I sucks because it doesn't support ID3 etc. Totally agree with part, but it is nice to be able to listen to my MP3s without putting anything aftermarket in.
