Just recieved Ice Link Plus V2.02 !

Well I just this in the mail it really cool, you dont need the soundgate adapter no more, every thing is integrated into the small ICE LINK modgule.

Also I think of hiding the ipod inside the center storage rather than running it to the center armrest. For those that have installed it already would this be easier?

Well, I ran mine into the armrest bin so it's easier to access. I didn't have to do anything different than if I had installed it into the center bin. I just pulled up the rubber mat on the bottom of the armrest console, unscrewed the power adapter plate (one screw, very easy), and then used a coat hanger to snake the cable from the center bin to the armrest bin.

Where did you get the new version from? Also, can you hook anything else up to it besides and ipod? I know it uses an ipod connector..right? Not a standard miniplug..correct?

I bought the IceLink Plus from DensionUSA, the manufacturer of the module itself.

http://densionusa.com/icelink_info.htm

I'm unaware of anything else that you can hook up to it. I bought the module with an 8 foot extension, and the dock connector plug. I didn't want that docking crade thing, it's impractical for my application.

No, you will lose the XM function if you don't do some modifications (i.e., y-splitters or splicing some wires, etc.).

I think having it in the cernter bin is more convenient than the arm rest. I didnt oder the extension calbe so I think it will be esier to conrtol the IPOD while its plugged in.

Since you didn't order the extension, then you have no other option.

Can you post a picture? I'm curious as to their solution of getting sound into the OEM headunit without the soundgate adapter

does anyone actually ever read old posts before asking questions that have been answered 10 times already?

I can't believe how many times people have asked the same damned question about ID3 tags in the last month!

FYI - best buy sells these now for 199. Just tax, no shipping obviously. I picked mine up from a local best buy and installed it, took around 10 minutes. So easy.

Ok again, I'm curious as to how these new icelinks are getting input through the stereo without a soundgate. Did they make their own adapter? Please don't say FM modulation...

Thanks Accorddude, if the icelink comes with the 14pin stereo bus cable on the end then that answers my question.

There is just a little connector that hooks into the XM/Cd changer port on the back of the head unit. There is literally only one thing to plug in and then you are good to go.

Well I took two pics of the final product. I had to make a hole about the size of a dime in the corner of the center cubby to pull through one end of the wire which looks just like an s-video.

I am able to tuck the wire away into the whole or pull it out as much as I want to conveniently use the ipod.

My question is now, does anyone know where I can get a small retractable wire reel to cover the hole and add more of a proffesional touch to the project.

Ipod with wire tucked all the way in.

You cant even see the whole unless you stick your head in there. I want to reel the wire onto a device similar to that in the pic below.

Silvabullet - I planned on doing something similar eventually, but didn't think of having something that automatically retracts the wire. The closes thing I can think of is a auto extending/retracting phone cord that I got at a convention for free. Depending on the gauge of the wire you need, maybe you can open up a similar device(like the USB one you posted) and put your own wire in it.

This product:
http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...ct%5Fid=26-720
has CAT5 cable in it, so that can't be much thinner than the Icelink wire, maybe you could crack it open and wrap your wire in there instead

only sounds as good as your compressed audio files.
If you've got music ripped at sh!tty quality, it's gonna sound sh!tty.
If your rips are cd quality, it'll sound cd quality.

Ok, I've been staring at Denison's site for a while now, and can't figure out exactly what I need from them -- or even what their package includes. I just ordered the soundgate device, but I do not want to use RCA cables. Can I get the Denison cable (or one like it) to plug into the Soundgate? Furthermore, where the hell do I order the Denison cable? It's not listed for sale anywhere on their site. If not, I will order the Soundgate (or check out BestBuy to see if I can pick it up onsite). But I am not sure what I need to order for my application. My car is an 04 w/ Navigation.

Denison lists the following ipod kits:
I20_Honda_R3 ice>Link Plus for 2003+ Honda Accord, S2000 / Acura TSX
I20_Honda_R2 ice>Link Plus for 1998-2004 Honda/Acura

I have no idea which one is right for me.

Thanks,

-N
