painted exhaust tips??

I have a silver 03accord. I have tinted my tail lights with dark grey vinyl film and painted the back "H" emblem black. So, I have a black and silver them going. I was wondering if anyone here has painted theri exhaust tips. I was thinking of painting mine black so that they look like black chrome. Any suggestions??? Thanks

hmm so your suggesting he vomits shumax...LOL..haha....i agree i think that on an accord that would just be a couple steps back...i think the tips we have are pretty good looking for factory and i deffinately wouldnt paint them....that is going to be a hassle and it is gonna look cheap IMO..just my 02 cents though

hey, if he wants to do it let him. we certainly can have our opinions though. i don't think it would be a good idea only because of the wear and tear on it would make it look like crap. i assume it would have more of a shine to it rather than flat black, but to get that look on that part of the exhaust system would just look like junk from the buildup and dirt. Maybe look for some colored after market mufflers and tips. You might find black, dark, titanium blue look.....just search. You'd probably end up replacing the stock tips anyways when they turn out less than perfect.

don't let us discourage you from what you want to do though....that is how a lot of DIY mods have come along here is trial and error...some work and some don't....if you really want to do it i would go to autozone or walmart first and buy a cheap exhaust tip and play around with it first..and if it doesnt work then you havent messed yours up...personally like i said i dont think it would look good but no one has done it yet so I can't say it would look bad 100% because no one has done it ona 7th gen yet...so if you think it would look good get something to practice on and post the results on here and give people an idea of what it will look like..

be a pioneer in black exhaust tips.

imagine, you could say you were the first one....

just make sure you get the right kind of paint, something that sticks to that kind of metal and can take the heat and dirt, and won't come off when you clean it. probably will require sanding and clear coat, so like smokin6 said, get something to practice on first.
