I believe its just a matter of removing them, and putting black tint on there. I know people here have done it.

here is one, but its red. Just do the same, except with a smoke version.

first, it's illegal... and u don't want the police reason to pull u over, if they do and u have heavy mods, then u'll be spending a long time on the side of the road and trying to get out of tickets which u probably won't... but spray is the way... if u haven't tinted ur windows have the shop do the tail lights as well and ask for discounts... usually paying cash will do the trick... oh and u don't need to take the tail lights out to spray, just gotta be careful...

rockblocker is definitely the best product for smoking tail lights. spraying always leaves a dull look to the lights.

I've had experience with both, if anyone is wondering.

I used smoked vinyl on mine. The vinyl is basically a sticker and it has a guarantee life of 5yrs outdoor use, and is not permanent and will not damage the plastic of the headlight or tail light. here are some pics. they are kind of dark since it's in the garage at my job. The vinyl itself was a "dark grey"

Actually the professional way of doing this is with auto BODY paint.

Basically it is a 10-15% dillution of a clear coat with any color you desire. Start with some clear, add 10% of a black/blue/orange/pink or whatever, mix it and shoot it. Since it is an autobody paint, it can then be color sanded and buffed, and will also be extremely resisntent to chipping.
