i4 4-2-1 Header/Injen CAI install pics + opinions.

All the info and pics I could get together
on these two items I installed over the last
few days.

What a KICK-ASS difference.

nothing is wrong with the car making that noise. its just sucking in air. its normal. my dad's RSX-S does it too. now how about taht i-vtec wail... is it loud when it switches over? there's NO comparison in sound on my dad's RSX-S

It's a DC Sports 4-2-1 header.
It's a bit loud but it's constant as I go through the RPM's.. no high pitches anywhere etc.. I barely notice the pickup in sound when VTEC kicks in.. But the kick in is a little more noticeable in the seat now for sure.
I'm going to save my dynotime untill I get my v-afc and possibly exhaust.
I'll need it badly then.

Thanks for checking it out!

Very cool. How much did it end up costing you for both parts?

Where did you buy the parts from? Any chance the heatshield can go back on in the original spot with some bending.

Between 4-5000rpm (V6 engine, vtec @ 4800rpm), it doesn't really drone, but it sounds like it's Wookie or Chewbacca as some of my friends put it, it just whines at you like it wants to go faster lol....the intake I have is just the AEM v2, but it's nice. Shaaad, and you other i4 guys are lucky you can change your header (edit: headers from header, used to V6 or larger engines ) out

i-vtec in our cars does NOT kick in that high. it hits at ~1800 rpm then merely uses the variable cam phasing after that. it is the economy vtec. please search.

economy vtec.. ??

i thought i-vtec was designed to help increase the powerband almost across the entire rpm range.. instead of one shot on/off like the vtec in v6...

yeah.....i don't kno about my k24 having economy ivtec. We have VTC (variable timing chain) on top of the normal Vtec to ensure very broad and linear powerband thruout the entire rpm range. I know that my 6th gen f23a4 had vtec-e, but have yet to read or hear about vtec-e being equipped on the k24s. I may be wrong, but i am not aware of it as of yet. And if k24s do come with vtec-e, then it sure is one hell of a motor, because it makes very good power.
