Whistling Intake?

Anybody elses intake have a slight whistling noise that happens at the lower rpms like around 2,000-3,000? I checked all the tubes and fittings and everything seems fine, didn't check the filter yet though. wanted to make sure there was a problem before I go through the process of taking the bumper off. I've got a AEM cai. One more thing, I did notice it sometimes with the stock airbox.

I reseted my ecu because i took out the battery when I installed it. I also have a Injen CAI and I don't have a whistling noise but my friend does on his car with the AEM CAI.

I think disconnecting the battery is the easiest way, other wise you gotta mess with the fuses and I have no idea which ones to pull.

You don't need to reset your ECU. Your computer will learn the new curve after you drive it for a couple of weeks. Your ECU is easy to reset. Its under the hood in the only fuse box you can see. It shows you on the Fuse Box which one your ECU is.

I don't believe anybody has actually determined EXACTLY which fuse we should pull to reset the ecu.

same exact thing-- def like the way it sounds.

is there any pattern to those of us that have it vs those that dont. not all people with the cai get it. i have a 03 6spd w/ injen rd cai and borla exhaust. for those of you that have it, what other I/E combos are you running?

with mine it only happens when the engine is cold.. and i usually let it warm up before driving so i dont hear it that often. but once the engine is warm the wistling becomes much quieter. I figure its just normal. btw i have a v2

i have the injen rd, and no other performance mods. mine makes the noise at 2500rpm or so, whistling. it also makes 2 different noises when i turn it off. i was wondering who has which noise.

mine usually makes a cough like noise a second after you turn off the car. occationally in the morning, or if i don't run the car long it makes a reverse like exhale, or like its breathing slows and stops. my friends rsx with aem cai makes the second, which i like better, don't really care for the cough. would rather have the sucking noise.

which does yours make and when, which intake?

^^^hell yeah padres

Mine's the same way, its totally normal. I have the AEM CAI V1 and it whistles at about 2500rpms and when I shut it off, its like a release of air/cough noise as you described. I heard both noises on the RSX-S when I had it as well. Totally normal.

i wasn't worried about it. i was just wondering who else has either of the noises and which intake you have.

this is for everyone to answer......does your intake cough or suck/blow air when you turn your car off? which intake you got?

my injen cai usually coughs, sometimes sucks, like my buddy's rsxs with aem cai.

I WOT a few times a day just to hear my car growl! V2 + Comptech = vrooom! vroooom! I like flooring it when merging into freeways about 90% of the time. I love the engine of our cars. The V6 is sweet.
