ATLP 3rd Cat Race Pipe

this is perfect for states that are strict and do a visual inspection

2.5" id/od is the most significant thing I can see about this, the $150 price tag leaves me but I am going to message mike later and see if he is releasing a version without the heatshield tabs because I don't need it lol

ps. no bottle knecking going down to a 2.25" for those who are using the megan test pipe

vvv mike's thread attached

Here she is naked. Stay legal-looking! Retains the use of the factory heatshield for both aesthetics, and heat dissipation. It may also be used without it.

2.5" ID, SS construction, solid flanged, OE mounting tabs. Bolts up to stock, or aftermarket J-Pipes as well as exhausts.

Pre-order now at http://www.acuratlparts.com/product.php?pid=18

Limited batches, ETA: 1-month from today.

they have these laser guns that detect temperature so theres no point in trying to conceal it. waste of money imo, and the price is outrageaous for a pipe and two flanges.

I think he came down to $125...but if you're an ATLP customer, its $115...maybe ppl still find that a bit too much

Is this the same thing as richies test pipe? Also what does this really do on the sound side? make it much louder? Would I feel the power increase?

Thanks

it is kind of like richies except that mikes pipe has a larger inner diameter pipe being used. If this is your only mod on the exhaust side you wont see a whole lot of noticable gains or sound difference.

I have a intake, richies j pipe, and borla exhaust. Should I go with this pipe or richies test pipe? which would be better?

^ Both should free up about the same power. You will reuse your stock shields from the cat.

well lets put it like this your jpipe from richie is 2.25 outlet and the test pipe has 2.25 inlet and outlet, and if I remeber correctly the borla exhuast it 2.25 all the way thru.

Now the other set up
Richies jpipe 2.25 outlet, mikes test pipe 2.5 inlet and outlet back down to your 2.25 exhaust.

Or you can just get mikes jpipe and it would look like this

2.5 jpipe to 2.5 mikes test pipe to your 2.25 borla exhaust

Since you are NA you would be okay using any setup listed above, but keep in mind if you go to large of an exhaust it will hurt your low end power.

Let me clear things up once and for all

From the cats down... Both jpipes are 2.25"... With an outlet of 2.5"

So richie's $65 test pipe is 2.5" in 2.5" out
Mike's race pipe is same for double the price

So again I say they are the same, they are doing the same thing, sooooo buy whichever is in your budget

For me, I want the high flowing third cat hehehehe

no point in going with one of these, you should get the megan test pipe and see if it fits, with all likely hood it does...

ya, thats a good idea. i hollowed out my procats, since they were deteriorating on me. i didnt want to go completey catless either, so i took of the test pipe and reinstalled the 3rd procat, which is still like new

my car doesnt have any kind of exhaust smell, only when starting cold.

^

No 3rd cat needed, it's their personal preference to have one, either cause of the environment or inspection or other concerns.

You seem to worry too much, relax it will all be fine

You have to be on drugs to pay $125 for this!

Get the Megan piece for $40. Jeez, this is a no brainer.

Just a straight thru pipe dudes.
