magnaflow cat-back mod

I wanted to know is there a good way to make my current cat-back system a little louder? I have the magnaflow cat-back. Is there anything I could get cutout be make it deeper sound? I dont want to buy a new cat-back system just mod the one I have.

To get a deeper sound, increase the stroke of the engine, LOL...

Increasing the stroke also makes other activities louder

Not sure if this might help but maybe installing a j-pipe and test pipe might give you a little more sound. For sure if you install a cold air intake will help.

the intake won't help the exhaust sound...

I can't even here the stock exhaust over my V2... i was going to record some high quality audio clips for baseline after install of the j pipe and stuff... and all i can hear is my intake.

I experienced the same when I put on the J-Pipe/Test-Pipe. My V2 was way louder than the stock exhaust, so I ended up going with a custom exhaust setup. Much much happier now.

If it has a resonator or premuffler you can have it cut out and some straight pipe welded in. That would definitely increase the loudness.

I love my Magnaflow exhaust, I don't know why you would want to make it louder. Although, I do admit when you get into the higher RPMs it actually gets quieter, and at low rpms it drones too much. It seems like the best sound is from 3000-4500 RPMs.

What he said, just cut out the resonator and/or premuffler. Only do one at a time though or it might get too loud for you. I'm probably going to do this to my Borla cat-back when I get the chance. First thing that's going is that pesky third muffler then I'll decide if I want the resonator out. May even take that 3rd cat out, then if I get REALLY crazy, I'll just take all the cats out, but one step at a time

I love mine as well. With the CAI the combo sound great. Mine doesn't drone, but since you have the 6spd it is probobly different.

Can't get headers for his car (assuming he's got a v6). They are cast directly onto the block. So unless you want to cut your block up and make some custom headers.... then no.

I can get them at performance paddler, I got mine there two yars ago for 420.00 shipped to the door I used to hav a car audio business thats why I got it at that price. But I still can get it around that price for the full cat-back dual exhaust for v6 coupes.

About 4 days ago I had my Magnaflow full cat-back installed along with a Megan Racing Hi-Flow Cat.

Still waiting on my AEM V2 to get here.

I am definately in love with the way my magnaflow sounds. All my friends say it sounds "just right" not too loud but not quiet either. It's definately around it's best right when VTEC kicks in. If anyone's looking into getting a catback I personally am 110% happy with my magnaflow. If you look on ebay you can get the full catback for like $620.00 shipped. Not too bad

Intake will be in soon so it can only keep getting better
