OBX-R Exhaust finally fixed!

I took advantage that I was in Miami this past weekend to visit my old friend's shop Miami Muffler. He got me fixed for $25.00. With some heat and some custom hangers, my OBX-R catback finally fits the way it should of been made to begin with!!!

BEFORE

AFTER

I love this exhaust for sound at every RPM level, quietness, and performance. This was the only flaw and I am happy it's now taken care of I highly recommend this guy's shop for any custom exhaust work. He's been around for a while and has even done turbo setups.

Nice. Back when I had my Integra I also bought an OBX catback for it. It was a couple inches too short, and I had to replace the hangers because the stock ones could not stretch

You have this one too? If you told me before I forgot. Even the choice of resonator placement and pipe diameter are perfect on this exhaust. I love it. Sound clips coming soon hopefully!

So how did they fix it for you? Just curious, because Car X fixed mine but I would love to have my tips centered in the cutouts like you have. Did you just have them extend the tips to sit flush?

BTW, OBX looks almost exactly like my Borla. I love the "sleeper" look. It's like the 4" tips were meant to be on the Coupe so it doesn't shout out "aftermarket exhaust." Sleeper for me (not you though, you're not even CLOSE to being sleeper..lol..).

They heated the bends and pulled it into place. once it was at the desired height and space apart, they adjusted the hangars to fit.

Here's a sound clip, although it does no justice to how good it sounds in person!!!

Sounds nice..

Am I the only one like this? I think the J30A1 sounds better from in-car and the newer J30's sound better from outside.

You are not alone my friend. The intake sound from the J30A1 is awesome, much nicer than the newer A4/A5. Not saying the newer J30s don't sound good with intakes, they certainly do. And yes, the exhaust seems to sound better with the newer motors. The intake manifold is different, the headers are cast into the head so no headers, the j-pipe, pre-cats, etc. are all different too.

I purchased my first 7th Gen V6 coupe back in December. I had 2 7th Gen 4dr 4cyl 5spd's before this one. I miss the manual trans but, I am going to live with the auto. The price was right on this one.

Anway, on to my question. Does anyone know if the OBX Exhaust actually adds power? Is there a dyno sheet kicking around on here for it?

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

I've had it on since last August and only have GREAT things to say about it. Great sound, performance, and quality.

Nick, I would think that expanding the main cat-back pipe diameter and taking away one resonator (Which only OBX does, all others keep 2 resonators) would help with exhaust flow while still keeping good backpressure and thus increasing horsepower. May not be 10-12 horsepower like many exhaust companies claim, but surely between 3-5 respectfully. A dyno sheet would be nice, but on the butt dyno it certainly feels more free than stock.
