How do to i choose a Resonator? i feel like a Ricer! help!

i have a 4cylinder coupe
i put a magnaflow muffler(universal street series) on it #14829, and it wasn't loud enough for me so i had the premuffler taken off, no custom piping work, no other exhaust system or engine mods

now i feel almost like a ricer, seems a little too loud for my tastes. and too loud inside the cabin, drones a lot on the highway too, not a bad sound just too loud for me

I am looking for i guess a resonator(is that what is it called) to replace the pre muffler i took off.

do u guys have any suggestions on brands to use? should i get a magnaflow brand resonator? or another brand? and what size should i get? 18''? or more or less? will it dampen the sound a whole lot or just a little?

what i am aiming for is a sound inbetween what i had with magnaflow muffler + premuffler and now magnaflow muffler without premuffler. thx!

is your magnaflow muffler straight through or chambered? also what size is your piping?

if you want sound inbetween the two, get a resonator that is 12" bottle style.

your muffler is a straight through design...i've got the race series of that exact muffler sitting next to me right now lol. not exactly sure what resonator for you to get, but i'm keeping an eye on this thread to see how things turn out for you.

usually muffler shops have resonators. just have them slap one on for you.

personally i don't think my magnaflows sound ricey but to each his own i guess. i am just a fan of loud exhaust but deep and low loud.

for me its drone or gtfo. hahaha

I think part of the problem is that you have stock piping. The narrow piping going to the Magnaflow is probably what's making it sound ricey.

get 2.25in and slap a 22in resonator that should keep all low down down. And when you rev that is when the monster comes out. I am planing to do 2.25in pipin, 22in resonator, with a Y and dual Tl muffler with the cut out.

A++ I don't mind if it too quiet. But I do mind if it freaken loud.
