Radiator leak ?

well, i didnt think this would happen so soon but had some questions about it.

I have an 06 v6 coupe auto trans that has 47k on it and lately I have smelled burnt radiator fluid. Went under to take a look and sure enough, the seam at the bottom end of the radiator has a slow leak that is splashing on the trans and manifold that sets off the smell.

I was wondering if this is normal at 47k or is it something that i have done. It cant be me because i dont drive it hard, so it must be normal? right?

I bought the car used so who knows... Does anyone know if i still fit the manuf. warranty or am i out $400 for repairs?

Thanks in advance...

I believe at 47k you're past the manufacturer's warranty.

I believe Honda's normal factory warranty is 3 years/36k miles.

Are you possibly going FI? If you are then an aftermarket is basically required for S/C apps. I have a brand new Koyo that has about 500 miles on it id be willing to sell.

I doubt it's normal. If you bought it used, did they offer a different warranty that this could be covered under, or did they just stick with the manufacturer's warranty period?

I haven't heard a lot of people on this site complain about their radiator, so I would tend to believe it's not normal. I have 91k on mine and have never had an issue.

Sometimes these kinds of things happen, definitely not a normal thing for a radiator to just "go out".

My radiator is 10 years old and has 182K of use on it, including a $12K front end accident on its resume and it works great.
