Borla / intake installed ( video)

I got my Borla exhaust installed, it has a very deep tone...you can only hear it at 2-3rmps, then the engine and the intake noise takes over after 3rmps
overall i am very happy with it....I am putting a test pipe on soon(i will post video for that later)

I'm actually glad you posted this because tons of people have been asking me to post my intake/j-pipe/test pipe/Borla setup and I don't have a video camera. For those that care, this is a very good representation...with the addition of the test pipe/jpipe it is deeper in tone, I can tell you that for certain. Not much louder, but deeper. Thanks for posting this, a lot of people are going to be happy you did this!

Thanks
It doesn't seem that loud when you actually are right next to it.

Test pipe won't make a big difference in sound IMO - it's the j-pipe that will make the sound deeper. Do you have plans on getting that? It is the best mod for power, dollar for dollar, IMO.

BTW, you don't have the hfp rear kit, but just make sure those tips aren't touching the rear bumper at all. I had that problem because I had teh HFP rear kit and one of the tips was touching. It will melt the plastic. Yours seem to be fine though from what I can tell from the vid.

Yeah i definitely have plans for getting J-pipe but kinda short on cash.
It is kinda touching the bumper but it didn't give me any problems yet....lol i think the plastic already melted off, i gotta check that.

Be careful, it can melt it pretty quickly. I bought mine used and the guy that had it on before me melted his rear bumper, I can tell by the black plastic still on the tips.

Mine was touching and I got it fixed ASAP. Too expensive to ruin that rear bumper. I just took mine into an exhaust shop and they were able to move the clamps around and do stuff with the hangers to make sure nothing was touching. Just be careful, hate to see you burn that rear bumper.

Hey, I noticed you MI plates, where you from? I'd love to check this out in person. I just got the J-pipe and test pipe in the mail today and we're looking to do an exhaust as well.

That's a little over an hour from Lake Orion. We have to do a meet sometime this summer. There are a couple of guys from Michigan that are all within easy driving distance for a cool little get together. How 'bout the Henry Ford Museum as a meeting spot?

How far are you guys from the Indiana boarder? there is nothing ever set up around here and I'd be willing to travel to a meet if it was within a few hours.

Um, looks to me like you got it for $450 brand new or am I missing something??

That's an incredible deal, it's usually $600+shipping for the Borla brand new.

I'd say that's one hell of a deal if you got it for $450 if it retails for $731. Wow...

I'm in for a meet too. I'm in Bowling Green, OH so I'm close to Michigan.

EDIT: A few higher quality sound clips of my setup (don't mean to thread hijack)

1. Stock - http://vctserver.bgsu.edu/~toddp/sounds/stock.mp3
2a. With Borla (pre-cat and resonator removed), J-pipe, test pipe - http://vctserver.bgsu.edu/~toddp/sounds/Borla.mp3
2b. Inside cabin with above setup : http://vctserver.bgsu.edu/~toddp/sounds/drone1.mp3
3. No exhaust after j-pipe - http://vctserver.bgsu.edu/~toddp/sounds/None.mp3
