Do they need to be washed and changed? I've never done it.

Assuming you are running the DRYFLOW filter, AEM recommends "that you clean your filter a minimum of every 30,000 miles, inspect it during oil changes and regular service intervals, and clean it if it appears to be reaching its dust holding capacity. If you live in particularly arid, dusty climates or venture off road, we recommend cleaning the filter every 3-5,000 miles. Keep in mind that a clean air filter can increase fuel economy as much as 10% compared to a dirty air filter, and service time for the DRYFLOW filter is only approximately one hour, so you can accomplish it in about the time it takes to change your oil."

AEM also adds that with proper care and maintenance, your filter and v2 CAI should last the life of your vehicle.

Here's a link to AEM's Dryflow Cleaning Kit FAQ: http://aempower.com/Faqs.aspx?CategoryID=102

I just bought a BOMZ cone filter(non oiled)... and ebay tubing.... off of ebay for less than $40 shipped....its a short ram not cold air intake... and i installed it last night....and it did exactly what i wanted it to do... which i think a TON of people on here are wanting as well... not only is the throttle response a bit better.... but the sound of the engine is completely different... deep and throaty.... made it go from a silent stock V6... to a monster sounding V6.... especially during VTEC. Im trying to leave my car mostly stock... but get a bit better sound and performance out of it for decently cheap... had to buy a different hose to go from intake tube to the crank case as well... the one provided was a bit short...(i just used a 14" piece of 3/8" fuel hose) and its all gravy..... perfectly installed with no CEL coming on. Great bang for the buck. You figure the brand of tubing doesnt mean a whole lot at all... as long as its made well... the filter is what matters. The BOMZ is just fine.

This is Just to inform those looking to gain some sound and bit of pep but not looking to spend an arm and leg.

I have the AEM CAI V1 and I change it about every 20,000 miles, but it isn't the dryflow one, it is the one you have to clean and re-oil. I have an extra filter so when I need to swap it's all done and ready.
