Ported & Polished...

This week I am going to be installing my Ported & Polished lower intake runners, upper Manifold, Bored throttle body, and Thermal gaskets in addition to my outlaw spacer kit. What do you think I can look forward to in regards to gains from these additional mods?

I didn't want to say because i see there are some people who i guess promote them on the forum, but P2R. I am not a promoter, I don't get discounts just stating where i got it done.

maybe 10 HP i am guessing. what would really help our engines would be one long runner for low end and one short runner for top end but then you would have the NSX engine. (forgot what the name of that engine is)

i would say get some more cooling mods to be done on that intake manifold to start seeing gains. for every 10 degrees cooler you get 1%

I'd say 10whp since you are auto. If you were 6MT I'd say closer to 15whp but this is good because I haven't seen anyone report any IM porting besides Kschwiggy and he did it at the same time as a lot of other stuff. Let us know!

wow man I didnt know you had all that done thats pretty sweet. No need to be ashamed that its P2R because from the little Ive seen of their products they are really nicely done. As long as your not saying that other peoples stuff is stupid and just insulting people like others your fine. Will love to hear what this does for you. On a side note though Ive heard that the outlawed spacer so really doesnt do much but since you had to replace the gaskets anyway why not right.

WOW that's quite the mod list! Have you dyno'd? How are the gains? You have a significant amount of NA mods..only ones I can see you are missing are cams and higher compression. Good stuff!

Yeah pretty much.. I wasen't ashamed I just am not looking to piss anyone off about promoting on the forums. Also I have done a significant N/A haven't dyno'd only to tune, and only had V2 and Catback. I would do cams but I mean were limited to the TL-S cams or RL I guess just i can't see doing the extensive work now for minimal gains from what I have read.

yeah i have ported intake runners and my heads are ported and polished.. however i don't have a bored TB or ported/polished IM (yet). there are noticeable gains in the sound of the engine (deep growl when the engine is under load).. increased throttle response, and smoother acceleration. i dont have dyno numbers from JUST port and polishing to offer you though.. just butt dynos.

as far as p2r goes.. they have good products and theyre doing great things for the J series engines.. it's just that a certain someone was acting inappropriate and talking like p2r was the best and only good solution out there. theres no harm in telling us where you get mod's done though

can you do a HUGE favor and snap some pictures of the port and polishing / throttle body before you install it all? it'd be great to see how the parts came out.

also, like sonnick said.. TL-S cams might be a good idea too.. and i only say that because you have the emanage ultimate and can properly tune the fuel map for the vtec portion of your rpm band. if you're going boost though.. the increased lift in the TL-S cams may not do anything for you anyway

Spacer kit was on the car and i took it off for a bit because i thought it was triggering a problem the spacer kit actually does reduce temperature of the manifold pretty drastically for such a mod

Yeah thats what i was referring to with that certain someone with P2R. They do do quality work in regards to the J series I will Post all pictures of the restructuring of the upper half once i begin it tomorrow and throttle body probably will come in early next week. I want to do the TLS Cam just i mean I dont know the extent of the install and haven't herd to many people thrilled with the amount of performance benefit as apposed to the installation difficulty.

And i am MOST definately boosting soon

Thanks for the kind comments lol... I will be on the dyno'ng soon but not until the next round of installations. ( Griffin radiator, Comptech tranny cooler, and Motormounts which are either in shipping or my garage. Then I will most certainly be posting dyno sheets.

Appreciate the info from everyone any other ideas on a next step let me know

Hey Paul, would it be a good idea to bring his CR to 11:1 if he is going boosted? I know the tl-s cams+raised CR will yeild great gains, but not sure if the TL's have stronger internals. Congrats on all your mods.

J30 internals are cast so it really depends on how much boost you plan to run.

5-6 should be good, but I would not want to go higher on the cast rods.

So what if you had J35 internals because if I remember correctly those are forged. Also wouldnt that be making some crazy power....J35 internals with CR 11:1 running 6 Psi off an Eaton M90....Dreams are beautiful.
