Crank Sensor

Question for you guys.. what can cause a crank sensor on a car to keep going bad?. Like if you replace it tomorrow, by Wednesday afternoon it will be bad. Or is it possible that the ECU is going bad and is randomly throwing the same false CEL saying that the crank sensor is bad, even after it was just replaced less than 48 hours ago?

ECU, or harness, it could even just be a bad/lose ground.

hmm that sounds about right, where would you start looking? is it common for the ECU to just go bad like that with no other issues? I would have thought if the ECU was bad then the car would pretty much not even work since those ECUs are so smart.

I would start with cleaning and re-tightening all the engine grounds and checking that tall connecters are completely seated.

Looks like it was OWNED and FAILED by a bad battery. The negative post had acid laying all around it. Battery finally failed last week since made in 2006 so I changed it to an interstate one then noticed that the car had 0 problems since. So basically Paul was right about it being a grounding or connection problem. Thumbs up to Paul..
