doubt on Intake

Hi there... i just bought my Honda Accord EX V6 AT from the dealer... its a 07 but brand new (never sold) lol... so im on learning process about the best mods for my engine...

Reading from u... the best CAi for my car is the AEM V2, but the one I found on ebay and any other online stores over the US is the one that says:

AEM V2 AIR INTAKE HONDA ACCORD 03-06 V6 24-6110C

As u can see, it says 03-06.. the question is... is there really a difference between 06 and 07 V6 engines??

i want that CAI but I want it to fit my car too ¬¬ ... Please let me know if it will run on my car...

Thanks a lot!

Im not sure... but does the 2007 have the MAF snsr on the intake tube? Whereas the 03-06 have in right on the throttle body?.... Im not positive.... but thats a possibility.

No MAF, its the same as the 03-07. I'd be wary of any sellers Ad that has a typo in it. 02 Accord is a 6th gen so that would make me skeptical this individual knows what they're selling and go to some one else who does.

I agree. I notice this alot on ebay where they have the wrong years on the product. Make sure that you clerify with the seller on the exact years or even get a part # to match up with AEM for your year. Also check out the injen CAI which is what I have had for 5 years! It is just as good as AEM IMO.

Take a look on amazon too. I got my K&N Typhoon $270 and Magnaflow exhaust $560 really cheap there and you can't beat free shipping.

I was about to buy the K&N Typhoon CAI, but.. reading some forums, all of them say that the V2 version from AEM is superior to any other...

that's why I want it... anyway if it's that difficult, i'll go for Injen or K&N...

Maybe not superior, but most likely the CAI of choice for this board...

I have the AEM V2 on my 07 EX-L V6. I've had it for about a year and it is awesome! However, when I got the CAI it wasn't listed for the 07 even on AEM's website so I bought it even though it said 03-06. Looking at AEM's website now it is listed for the 07 now. Mine fit just fine without any problems and paid $300 through ebay. Well worth the price and as others will say the sound of the intake is addictive and will probably make you accelerate at a higher rate just to hear it. Even after a year of having it I still love hearing that sound.

That's the reason I want it so badly!

I have had CAIs on every car I owned... Dodge Neon (ICeman Intakes CAI), Mazdaspeed 3 (Mazdaspeed CAI) and now I want it to my Accord!!!!

Do u have any videos of the V2 installed??

Another question... is there any problem if I buy the V2 used?? I mean in the performance of the cone or something?

I personally do not have any videos of the V2 on my car but Youtube has plenty of them. Buying it used shouldn't be a problem because there aren't that many parts that come with the intake. You might just want to check out the filter cone and possibly buy a new one if it doesn't look good. IMO just search ebay and try to buy new.

I have a pretty popular video I made on YouTube comparing my Accord stock and then with the V2 installed. At the time it was my first and only mod. Of course it's a digital camera in video mode, so the sound quality isn't the best it can be, but you'll get the idea in sound difference. Some say they can't tell the difference, but I sure can. You can definitely hear the VTEC crossover more. Check it out:

AEM V2 Video HereAEM V2 Video Here&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]">

Also, there's nothing wrong with buying one used. I got mine off of Craigslist used for $100 without a filter, which was $45 new, so all together about half of the new price. But to be completely honest, while I absolutely love the sound of the V2, I've had just the regular AEM cold air before on my CL-S and it didn't sound that different, so I'm sure the K&N would sound just as good, maybe a tad bit less agressive, but it would be hard to tell the difference most likely IMO.

A CAI is a CAI. There's not much difference between them. I have the K&N Typoon and it's great. I'd suggest getting it from ebay, I got mine brand new for $200 shipped.

I love that feature about it being so much more modular than the AEM.
