Feeler for harness bar.

I'm starting this thread to gather opinions on a harness bar. Im thinking about fabbing up a sparco-like harness bar. (Typically found in STIs.)

Tell me what you think.

I was looking into these aswell since i would still like to use my back seats. But for a coupe this would be a very big hassle for people getting into the back.

I dont even want to begin to think about the facial damage one of those would cause if someone was in the back seat during an accident

No one really rides in the back seat. Unless I'm back there with a girl. If that's the case, we're parked. lol. I was thinking about a backseat delete as well

IMO kinda rice - I know it's probably just for show; most of us don't see much track time (if any) to warrant getting F.I.A harnesses and stuff

just my opinions though

I take my coupe to the track a good bit. that's why i was considering a harness bar. price would all depend on how much i have to put into it. with the cost of metal rising, i will try to keep it low as possible.

Rice? i guess... every mod that is not OEM for our car is RICE... if you want to be picky about it...

comments like this is the reason they dont do nothing for our cars... we heard it everywhere we go "NO ONE FIXES UP AN ACCORD"... (i'm sorry if any hard feelings)

we got to prove them wrong and do track time. (and yes some of us like to prove it on the streets too not encouraging street racing, but i do have a heavy foot)

*again sorry if i came aggresive i know its your opinion but.. you know.. ha

different strokes for different folks that's all man - no worries, I get where you're coming from

kudos to the OP for wanting to step up and fab something up, just not my cup of tea that's all.

I think the whole reason why there isn't a lot of aftermarket parts for our cars comes down to dollars and cents - companies won't spend the $$ to R&D products for our cars because only a handful of people will buy it, I doubt they'd even break even.

Let's face it, the import scene is mostly centred around the civics, integras, subarus, etc. (just a few examples) - companies know when they create a product they will sell many many units

You spend the $$ to bring a product to market, everyone here buys one and also on other sites like AcuraZine and BAM - sales stop; the market unfortunatey isn't there

I don't want a whole cage. I was thinking instead of a harness bar like i linked to above, a ground bar that runs along the floor from side to side, n just lash to that.

Well designs of the floor mounted bar are over. It would break our backs if lashed to the floor. They make them but only for drag cars. Looks like I'm back to the drawing board...

I have a harness bar but I havent installed it. I got it off ebay. im liking the idea of roll cage too but not a ridiculos roll cage like a 7 or 8 point one.
