I'm partial to the borla, but the comptech is nice too.... if you can find one.

The borla sounds amazing, imo. Use the search. There are tons of these threads out there.

There won't be one that will give you tremendous power vs. the others, so I don't think that's a criteria point for you. It basically comes down to appearance and sounds. And that's purely personal...I love the Borla, but it is the quietest of the bunch. Comptech sounds great but is it worth spending an extra $500 over the Borla just for sound? Like I said, personal opinion dictates this one, power differences are negligable.

Quietest in the stock form... yes.

Which leads me to refine my original post. Why get a complete system? I did, and I took out the pre-muffler and resonator that came with it...

My suggestion would be to get a custom exhaust built and use some nice mufflers on the end. That's basically what my system is.

The Borla sounds SICK without the pre-muffler and resonator (and also coupled with Richie's J-pipe and test pipe). W1N!!!1!11!

I still want to do that (get rid of the pre-muf and resonator) but haven't done it yet. Don't want a drone since I do so much highway driving. And I also have Richie's j-pipe and test pipe. Hmm...

I would go with the magnaflow. IMO it sounds the best. I have had mine on since early 04 and wouldn't change my choice if I had to do it again! It is a great looking setup too as well as one of the least expensive! The website claims 7whp and 6wtq for the magnaflow on the accord v6.

I'll be in your neck of the woods in a few weeks. I'll hit you up so you can take a drive and hear what it sounds like. It's amazing.

Looking at your garage, I have a feeling when I see your car there's a few things you're gonna make me want to do (ICE first and foremost)

If you can hear pbook's in person, I'd hold out a bit. Because you can't beat that IMO, hearing it out of the cabin and him giving you a ride to hear it in-cabin.

Look at my garage for the installed jpipe I have two pics. Basically it connects to the two pre-cats on one end, and then to the 3rd cat on the other end. With all 3 aftermarket designs, they have all shown over 7whp/7wtq IIRC over stock. You can see why in the design vs. stock where it is crushed in some places to the point of hardly allowing any airflow.

All you need is the j-pipe to get those gains. I put it in with just a CAI and noticed a nice low-to-midrange bump in torque out put and hp output. It was really nice since it was most noticable down low, where our cars are kind of gutless due to low torque output.

It doesn't really make it louder per se, just deeper really. Hope that helps.

ok, so that RV6 site is the best place to get it im guessing?? so all i need it a test pipe ur saying right??? this is what i got, i just bought my car used from a private owner, for some dumb reason he went from dual to single exhaust on this v6 6MT which i dont know why. can i still install J-Pipe and later down the road get a Dual exhaust system wether it be Borla or whoever or can the J-Pipe ONLY be installed with dual exhausts?

If you want to maximize performance in our v6 the single exhaust will do it more efficiently unless the tubing used isn't wide enough. The dual just looks better. Unless the guy already replaced the j-pipe its still stock there so any aftermarket J-Pipe will do. I highly doubt he replaced that yet unless he used one of the known vendors here. Just look under your car to see how its put together. If you search you'll find pictures of the stock j-pipe with the aftermarket ones.

No if he went single exhaust conversion that doesn't necessarily mean he went with an aftermarket jpipe. And like nadracer said, a single setup done properly is actually better than a dual setup, especially since ours isn't a true dual setup.

You'd need to get the jpipe but the test pipe is optional. The test pipe doesn't give a whole lot of gains, maybe 1-2 whp.

And there's 3 aftermarket jpipes on the market that I'm aware of:

1. Richie V6
2. ATLP
3. Excelerate

Richie just came out with his 2nd version (I have the first). Speculation was that ATLP and Excelerate's design was better the first time around and gave better gains. I don't know if Richie was able to replicate those designs into his 2nd version, but I'd think the difference would be overall minimal so whatever fits your budget in the end. All 3 are good companies and have cred on this site (waits for sirchadwick to jump in )

As others have mentioned, Borla is the quietest in stock form, but the Apexi WS2 is also pretty darn quiet. The ws2 doesn't come with a premuffler, just a long resonator and the two final muffs. I originally had my heart set on Borla because of the rave reviews, but I chose the Apexi due to availability and an awesome price. I can honestly say I am not disappointed with my selection - no drone, quiet while cruising, throaty at WOT, and I absolutely love the muffler tips. I'm not at all trying to sway you from the Borla, I'm just offering my perspective.

Hearing the systems firsthand can be an invaluable opportunity! Gluck..

Do you have the stock rear bumper or HFP bumper?

My Borla tips are pretty much flush with the HFP kit.

Good point, I have the stock rear fender. You might want to consider this as well depending on what rear setup you have and if you plan on changing it. Also, I believe there may be a little room for adjustment, not sure how much though since I haven't tried myself..
