dyno tomorrow!

well today i did 2.5 inch straight pipe, all the way back, and i deleted my third cat. no mufflers. susprisingly its really not that loud. Butt dyno of me and my friends, there is more power top end after vtec. It sounds crazy at high rpms, i will def get a vid up asap or at least a sound clip. It sounds mean.

Tomorrow im gonna be dynoing the car.

only other mod is aem v2. Any guesses on what numbers ill get?

I dunno because you have a custom exhaust but maybe 230whp/210wtq is reachable. I would personally be very happy with those numbers. Just make sure to keep up posted I'm really curious what you get. And if the shop is any good because someday I might have to venture into your neck of the woods to get dyno work done lol

Just make sure they calibrate it properly so we get some good numbers! I'm looking forward to seeing what you get, gives me a gauge of where I might be sitting even though you've got custom piping. When are you going to bite the bullet and get the jpipe man?

I promise you its worth the money. To me it was by far the best bang for the buck. You will not believe how much down low power you gain from this mod. It is such an improvement. Well I don't know what else to say to convince you You get the high end power from the exhaust system you built, now compliment it with the low and mid range power the jpipe will give you is my opinion.

Does the j pipe help any top end?

btw i will be posting acceleration videos from inside car in about 2 hours just to make up for not dynoing today.

i got one from 30-60 second gear pull, one from 25 -60 first and second gear. and then i have one 50-90 second-third gear. i will post up tonight

the jpipe helps everywhere, but you notice it the most down low and in the mid range. When you did that 2nd gear pull, it will give you more power right when you go WOT. I can't promote this product anymore I really think its a must have for our car.

haha i got it. Its definatly going to be in the near future, and as soon as i get one i'll dyno again to see if its true.

Also if i just wanted the j pipe, without the third cat delete because i already have one, how much would just the j pipe cost? and which one would be best for performance.

headin out to the shop in a few minutes. im excited

I honestly don't know which of the 3 would be the best. One sits lower than the others and since you're dropped I'm sure you don't want the pipe scraping the ground everytime you have to go over a speed bump. But they all should give similar gains, maybe a few ponies difference but no one has done any dyno testing to compare the 3 so who knows. I just think you'll be very happy wit hit, very happy!

ok guys got the results........

234.7 whp 211 wtq.

im pretty satisfied with the results. He also said that my pipe had a bad bend on it too and he believes that robbed me of some power. Considering he did the pipe for me, he is redoing my pipe monday and redynoing again, and we will see what happens. He said the bad bend could of set me back a couple ponys. He drove the car and he was extremely satisfied with it, he said its one of the quicker accords hes driven.

and for reference my friends 08 civic si with intake dynoed 173whp and i forget torque, i wanna say 130 something.

i can't wait for redyno, hopefully closer to 240 whp.

I hit it almost right on the nose with your results I would talk to him about the jpipe I don't see how under any circumstance the jpipe would cause you to lose power even with your setup. It is a major restriction right now compared to your full 2.5 inch piping (it is 1.75 stock I think) and if you look at it there is a horrible crimp in the bend that definitely is restricting power output. I would show him a picture and ask him his thoughts. IF your goal is to go 2.5" through the entire system then why would the jpipe hurt your output?

anyway, this makes me wonder what type of power I am putting down. I would be thrilled with 230/210 personally that's a nice amount of power. That's over 270 at the crank.
